Leeds United midfielder Anton Stach has had a fantastic start to his career in West Yorkshire following his arrival from German outfit Hoffenheim.
Anton Stach took to life at Leeds United well in August despite some disappointing results. However, a subpar performance against Fulham meant Leeds fans wanted Stach to be dropped vs Wolves.
| Team | League | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| VfL Osnabrück II | Oberliga Niedersachsen | 1 | 0 | 0 |
| SSV Jeddeloh II | Regionalliga Nord | 27 | 4 | 3 |
| VfL Wolfsburg II | Regionalliga Nord | 40 | 6 | 6 |

Stach was Leeds’ most expensive signing of the summer but also one with plenty of pedigree after arriving from the Bundesliga. It’s for those reasons that Stach has been named Leeds’ best signing.
He has been a real threat, with Stach up with Bruno Fernandes in Premier League chances created. That is a fact Graham Smyth can’t believe about Stach but his set-piece duties go a long way to explaining it.

Anton Stach is Leeds’ 500th player to score a goal
After being the most vital player at Molineux, it was even sweeter that Stach teased Wolves ahead of Leeds’ visit. In scoring, Stach became one of three record breakers for Leeds against Vitor Pereira’s side.
He was one of three goalscorers, with each being a new signing. However, even if Dominic Calvert-Lewin stood out, Stach was the standout player vs Wolves and he turned it up a gear from the solid start in August.
Leeds’ German midfielder made Troy Deeney’s TOTW. In many ways, rightly so, with Stach rated the best Premier League player of the weekend for the fifth matchday of the campaign.
Alan Shearer loved Stach’s performance against Wolves and Leeds fans will love the latest reveal even more, especially given how quirky it is and some of the names Stach has joined an illustrious club with.
Calvert-Lewin became the 499th different scorer of a goal, Stach the 500th, and Noah Okafor the 501st. LUFCDATA has revealed who are the other players on 100, 200, 300, and 400.
Leeds’ goalscorers across their history are 100th scorer: Peter Harrison (1949), 200th scorer: Alan Curtis (1979), 300th scorer: Clyde Wijnhard (1998), 400th scorer: Ramon Nunez (2011), and 500th scorer: Anton Stach (2025).
Nunez and Wijnhard stand out, given that they played just 25 times and 24 times respectively. But Stach’s strike was a memorable way for Leeds to mark a 500th unique scorer in their history.

Anton Stach is one of Leeds’ most expensive signings ever
In so many ways, Stach should be a ‘game changer’ and ceiling-raiser for Leeds this season. Using Transfermarkt’s valuations just for consistency, Stach is joint-eighth in terms of their most expensive signings ever.
That places him above Raphinha, Jaka Bijol, and Helder Costa of recent years. However, there are some huge names above the defensive midfielder.
| Ranking | Player | Season | Fee (Euros) |
| 1 | Georginio Rutter | Winter 22/23 | 40.5m |

He was a statement of intent in their recent window. It looks like being one of the best signings the club have made all summer, but time will tell just how good after a strong start in West Yorkshire.
