Leeds United defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-1 at Molineux for Daniel Farke’s side to claim their first away points of the season and set a new club record in the process.

Goals came via a stunning header from Dominic Calvert-Lewin, a wonderful Anton Stach free-kick, and Noah Okafor slotting into the corner on the counter-attack.

Leeds United lost last week’s clash with Fulham late on but they did not drop after Ladislav Krejci opened the scoring, with a flurry of first-half goals.

It’s a memorable away victory for Farke and co. but it also leaves Wolves struggling in the bottom three. They have lost each and every game in the Championship so far and Leeds stopped Wolves’ 1964 record.

Leeds break record with three goalscorers at Molineux

Vitor Pereira signed a new Wolves deal this week, but Leeds spoiled any kind of party in dramatic fashion and their giant German midfielder was at the heart of it all.

Leeds fans wanted Stach dropped vs Wolves before the midfielder stepped up with a superb goal and an assist for Okafor’s swift breakaway.

Stach teased Wolves pre-match and he was the pick of the bunch for Leeds’ match ratings against Wolves, with Leeds tearing their opposition to pieces in the first 45.

Lukas Nmecha, a new signing, was the only player with a league goal for Leeds this season, but three more have been added to that; each goalscorer at Molineux was a new signing, too.

Not only that, but in scoring three, they set a new club record in the process. Opta’s Jonny Cooper has revealed the incredible new statistic.

He wrote: “With Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Anton Stach and Noah Okafor on the scoresheet for the first time, this is the first time in Leeds United’s history three players have all scored their first goals for the club in the same game.”

Leeds learned plenty about themselves vs Wolves but one aspect that has to be pleasing is the fact the new signings were all able to contribute so well at Molineux.

Leeds United match another club record against Wolves

Farke has a disappointing managerial record vs Wolves but Leeds have had some classic encounters against Wolves in recent years, including a dramatic Rodrigo Moreno-inspired win for Leeds at Molineux on their last visit in 2023.

Farke had his eye on another piece of history that Don Revie made in 1971, by claiming a fourth consecutive league win over their next opponents. Leeds matched that Revie against Wolves.

Leeds’ current winning run stretches back to the beginning of the 2021/22 season under Jesse Marsch, when Luke Ayling scored a dramatic winner to claim a 3-2 win.

This was followed by a 2-1 win at Elland Road at the beginning of the following year, before the win under Javi Gracia with Rodrigo.

Two sensational club records, but the new signings making an impact has to be the most pleasing aspect for the Whites.
