Leeds appointed Farke as the club’s latest manager in July 2023 to replace Sam Allardyce on an initial four-year contract.

The German took charge at Elland Road after the club endured relegation from the Premier League. He won two Championship titles while at Norwich City.

Farke enjoyed four years in charge of Norwich, over which they won the Championship title in 2018/19 and 2020/21.

Farke named Eddie Riemer as his assistant coach as the German selected his maiden Leeds coaching staff in July 2023.

The pair have remained together ever since Riemer started his coaching career in November 2015. He has always acted as Farke’s right-hand man to date.

Riemer first joined Farke at Borussia Dortmund for the tactician’s tenure in charge of BVB’s B-team.

The UEFA A Licence-holder would follow his compatriot over to England, Russia, and Germany, as well as Norwich, FK Krasnodar, and Borussia Monchengladbach.

Farke knew Riemer well having managed the former centre-half during his time in charge of SV Lippstadt 08.

Riemer joined the German minnows under Farke in July 2019 and remained at his disposal until Farke left in June 2015. Riemer also took a short sabbatical during 2014.

Assistant coach: Danilo de Souza

Danilo de Souza joined Farke in his move to Leeds in 2023, becoming part of the backroom staff as another coaching option.

The Brazilian had a playing career of over ten years, largely playing in the lower tiers of German football and having one spell in Sweden.

His transition into coaching in 2017 saw him join up with SC Paderborn before moving on to VFL Osnabruck and Armenia Bielefeld.

In 2023 he left Germany to join up with Leeds, where he has been a key part of the backroom staff since.

First-team coach and analysis lead: Christopher John

Leeds accepted Farke’s request to add Christopher John to his maiden coaching staff at the West Yorkshire outfit in July 2023.

John has worked under Farke since November 2018 after first joining him at Norwich. He tracked Farke to Krasnodar and Borussia Monchengladbach.

Farke also briefly managed John at Lippstadt from 2013 to 2015 before the UEFA A licence-holder retired in 2016.

He joined SC Paderborn’s B-team as an assistant coach after hanging up his boots. But John left in November 2018 to re-establish his past connection with Farke.

John holds a dual position in the Leeds coaching staff as a first-team coach and the analysis lead. He heads up the Whites’ analysis department to review matches and scout opponents.

Goalkeeping coach: Ed Wootten

Farke chose to replace goalkeeping coach Marcos Abad with Ed Wooten after becoming the manager of Leeds in July 2023.

He wanted to reunite with the English coach having worked with him at Norwich. Wooten had remained at Carrow Road after the Canaries fired Farke.

Wooten joined the first-team coaching staff at Norwich when the Norfolk natives appointed Farke as their manager in July 2017.

He had served as the Canaries’ U18s goalkeeping coach for the previous two years. He also worked for Colchester United’s U18s from 2004 to 2015.

Dean Smith and David Wagner managed to tempt Wooten to stay at Carrow Road following Farke’s dismissal.

But the German’s eventual return to England to be the manager of Leeds in July 2023 also saw Wooten agree to leave Norwich and reunite with Farke at Elland Road.

Fitness coach: Chris Domogalla

Leeds named Chris Domogalla as a fitness coach at Farke’s demand for his maiden coaching staff at Elland Road.

The German has remained a loyal servant for Farke since they linked up at Borussia Dortmund. Domogalla had already worked for BVB’s B-team since January 2014.

Domogalla held the role of rehab coach with Dortmund’s reserve squad following an earlier job as an athletic coach with SG Wattenscheid 09’s Under-19s.

Farke greatly admired what Domogalla produced, so took him to Norwich, Krasnodar and Borussia Monchengladbach.
