Leeds United transfer rumours latest, including updates on Christantus Uche, goalkeepers, and Igor Paixao.

The transfer window is intensifying for the 49ers and Leeds United, who are continuing their momentum in the market as more concrete transfer news emerges to add to their four summer additions.

A busy summer still lies ahead at Leeds as Daniel Farke looks to improve several areas of the side, with the Leeds squad far from ready ahead of the club’s return to the Premier League.

Lukas NmechaJaka Bijol, Sebastiaan Bornauw, Gabriel Gudmundsson, and Sean Longstaff have all become Leeds players in recent weeks, meaning they are making progress but more are set to follow.

In the meantime, with vital months ahead for Farke and the recruitment team, here we have taken a look at some of the latest transfer news and the biggest headlines coming out of the club in another whirlwind week.

Leeds’ Christantus Uche enquiry explained

The 6’3″ Getafe midfielder Christantus Uche has emerged as yet another midfield option, with some claiming that Leeds are willing to activate Uche’s £21 million clause.

Reports later on in the window and more recently have claimed that Leeds had intensified talks for Uche, and got further along than other interested parties such as Atletico Madrid and Newcastle United.

Uche’s agent has talked up a summer transfer for the Nigerian international, despite only spending one season in La Liga with Getafe, securing 10 goals and assists last season.

Leeds, Wolves, and Brighton are all eyeing Uche but Beren Cross revealed Leeds’ enquiries and that Uche’s preference is a Premier League switch this summer, with Leeds very much in the mix for him.

Leeds’ goalkeeper search ramps up

After Longstaff, Anton Stach is next for Leeds as they look to sort out their midfield further. However, other areas of the team also need resolutions as quickly as possible.

The latest comes via Graham Smyth, who claims Leeds are now closer to a new goalkeeper addition after Longstaff’s signing on Friday evening.

Of course, they suffered a blow in their pursuit of Vanja Milinkovic-Savic as he heads to Napoli, but there are other options that Leeds have been working on.

Robin Zentner is one option for Leeds, while the talk of Lyon’s Lucas Perri and Leeds also refuses to go away. It’s not yet clear who it will be, but Smyth has confirmed progress has been made.

The latest on Leeds’ pursuit of Feyenoord winger Igor Paixao

One of Leeds’ key targets has emerged as Igor Paixao. The Feyenoord winger is an exciting Brazilian, with Paixao winning Dutch Footballer of the Year in 2024/25.

It’s been reported previously that Leeds opened talks with Paixao over a month ago now but full Leeds approval of Paixao has since been given in recent days.

Fortunately, Marseille cannot and will not meet Paixao’s asking price, which is over £30 million. Prior to that, at one stage, it appeared Paixao might even green light Leeds’ interest after talks.

In the last few days, it’s been stated that Paixao is happy to leave Feyenoord for a new challenge this summer, while Paixao’s replacement has also been arranged at Feyenoord. Leeds have taken positive steps forward this week.
