Leeds United are pushing to sign numerous players currently, with an attacking midfielder also on the agenda for the 49ers and Daniel Farke.
It’s previously been reported that Leeds United are interested in Getafe’s Christantus Uche, with some claiming that Leeds are willing to activate Uche’s £21 million clause, but with Brighton also being heavily linked as well.
Reports later on in the window and more recently have claimed that Leeds had intensified talks for Uche, and got further along than other interested parties such as Atletico Madrid and Newcastle United.
Uche’s agent has talked up a summer transfer for the Nigerian international, but nothing concrete has materialised until the latest from Beren Cross and Guillermo Rai.

Leeds step up interest in Christantus Uche — he wants Premier League move
Leeds, Wolves, and Brighton are all eyeing Uche in recent days, with the Nigerian international reported to have been missing training with Getafe and preferring a Premier League move.
Now, Leeds’ interest is ramping up. Per The Athletic, Uche has emerged as one of the players Leeds have made enquiries about this summer.
The report states that the Whites have asked Getafe about Uche’s situation several weeks ago, but Leeds have yet to make an official bid for the 22-year-old.
Getafe sources have reportedly confirmed the player has a release clause of €25 million (£21.6 million) and that he seems keen to join a Premier League outfit this summer.
However, Cross and Rai add that there is also interest in Uche from Serie A, although a project like Leeds’ would appeal more to the Nigerian, whose desire is to move to England.

Uche’s 2024/25 stats and what sort of profile he will bring to Leeds
The Whites have been prioritising taller players, who are more physically combative and athletic, which is needed to help close the quality gap to other Premier League teams.
Brenden Aaronson is the only out-and-out attacking midfielder contracted to Leeds, and he and Uche would provide different profiles, given that the USMNT star often struggles with physicality.
Uche is a developing player and his goal involvements will improve as he ages, but he stands out as a physical profile already aged just 22.

| 33 – La Liga | 4 | 6 | 5 | 2 |
| 5 – Copa del Rey | 0 | 1 | 1 | 0 |
The 6’3″ powerhouse can operate as a box-to-box midfielder, an attacking midfielder, or as a number-nine on occasion.
He has plenty of the desired attributes to ensure Leeds have an incredible spine with height and physicality next term, but he also has the potential and propensity to improve further as well.
