The centre-forward position is in urgent need of being filled before the Premier League season starts, with Leeds United News providing the latest information.
In just over four weeks, Leeds United will face Everton at Elland Road. In the meantime, they have pre-season games against Man United, Villarreal, AC Milan, and unknown German clubs to come.
The first game of those is in Sweden against their bitter rivals Man United on Saturday, and Leeds will want to get off to the best possible start under Daniel Farke and to bed in new players.
Leeds will take them on in Stockholm at the 50,000 seater Strawberry Arena, which is the first of two stadiums bigger than Elland Road the Whites will play in during pre-season.
Farke’s squad will then return to Germany for pre-season training and will once again play fixtures behind closed doors, with the date, venue, and even the opponents remaining under wraps and unleaked.

Leeds increase their efforts to sign Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz
We have looked at a potential lineup for Leeds vs Man United recently but it’s a guarantee that Leeds will start the game with one of Joel Piroe, Lukas Nmecha, Patrick Bamford, and Mateo Joseph.
It’s been said for some time that Leeds are expected to make a big signing up front, with the primary link emerging between Leeds and Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz.
| Team | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Flamengo | 32 | 10 | 1 |
| Coritiba (loan) | 6 | 1 | 0 |
| Fulham | 97 | 26 | 3 |
| Middlesbrough (loan) | 17 | 2 | 0 |
Leeds United News sources have since confirmed Leeds and the 49ers have also made progress in their pursuit of Muniz, and that there are positive signs coming from Muniz and his entourage about a switch to Leeds this summer.
There is still work to do on the transfer, but they are hopeful that a deal will come to fruition as they look to secure their top targets in the spine of their team, and with Muniz wanting to be the main man at whatever club he is playing for next term.
Much of the focus is on Sean Longstaff and Anton Stach, but they are now quietly hopeful of making a breakthrough with Fulham for the striker, even if their attentions are largely focused on securing their midfield additions right now.
One source claims that the deal is edging closer, with Leeds stepping up their efforts ahead of their first pre-season game against Man United this weekend.
It’s a near-certainty that a club-record fee from Leeds is required to sign Muniz from the Cottagers this summer. It’s also been reported in recent weeks that Leeds are readying a second Muniz bid.
In more recent days, it’s become clearer that Fulham have been planning for life post-Muniz for a while. The Elland Road hierarchy are continuing to grow in confidence by the day now.

Leeds target Rodrigo Muniz’s record in the last 18 months is remarkable
Given that he has just one year remaining on his contract, and that he has been second-choice behind Raul Jimenez, it’s clear to see why Muniz is so keen to be the first-choice at Fulham or elsewhere.
He started just eight league games for the Cottagers in 2024/25, with Marco Silva opting for more experience in attack. His development has been remarkable in spite of that, though.
| Appearances | Starts | Minutes | Goals | Assists |
| 36 | 13 | 1,355 | 11 | 2 |
His goal-to-minute ratio is fantastic and has even drawn comparisons to Erling Haaland in recent goalscoring terms, and it’s clear to see why there is mounting interest in the 24-year-old striker.
His goal return doesn’t jump off the page, but Muniz’s improvement over the last 18 months has been particularly impressive. The 24-year-old has scored 20 and assisted three in his last 55 games for Fulham since January 2024.
Muniz’s current trajectory suggests he is about to be handed more games by Silva or be sent elsewhere for an expensive transfer fee. There is now growing belief Leeds could sign Muniz.
