Leeds United’s pre-season gets underway on July 19th with a game against Manchester United in Sweden’s Strawberry Arena. For the two long-standing rivals, it’s a dress rehearsal ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season.
Leeds United against Manchester United is one of the Premier League’s most intense rivalries, and one that has gone way back.
In a time not so long ago, Leeds and Man United were two of the country’s best teams: in the late 90s and early 00s, Leeds were regular top four contenders, achieving their best-ever Premier League finish of 3rd in the 99/00 season, as Man United won the title.
Times have changed since then, and for both teams with Man United finishing 15th and securing their worst-ever Premier League finish, whilst Leeds United won the Championship title after a two-year hiatus in the second tier.

When and where do Leeds United play Man United this summer?
Leeds United and Man United meet in Sweden’s capital, Stockholm, on July 19th. They play each other at the Strawberry Arena which with a 50,000 capacity is the largest stadium in Scandinavia, home to AIK and the Swedish national team.
And in the upcoming Premier League campaign, Leeds United play the Red Devils at Elland Road on January 4th, before travelling to Old Trafford on April 11th.

The early predicted Leeds United lineup vs Man United, including Sean Longstaff
Daniel Farke will surely unleash his new signings in the pre-season opener against Man United: Jaka Bijol Sebastiaan Bornauw, Lukas Nmecha, and Gabriel Gudmundsson.
On Tuesday, Leeds United announced the signing of Gudmundsson who’ll come in and fill the left-back void left by Junior Firpo, who’s set to join Real Betis on a free transfer.
It’ll make for a new-look Leeds defence with Bijol bound to be the starter. The remainder of the side won’t look too different from how it did last season, but for the potential inclusion of Sean Longstaff.
Reports claim that Leeds United are close to signing Longstaff from Newcastle United. The Whites are paying £12million to sign a player they’ve long been interested in, and if he signs soon then he could easily feature in the heart of midfield for Farke in Stockholm.
