Leeds United transfer rumours latest, including updates on Anton Stach’s medical, Igor Paixao’s situation, and Chelsea striker Marc Guiu.

The transfer window is intensifying for the 49ers and Leeds United, who are continuing their momentum in the market as more concrete transfer news emerges to add to their five summer additions.

A busy summer still lies ahead at Leeds as Daniel Farke looks to improve several areas of the side, with the Leeds squad far from ready ahead of the club’s return to the Premier League and now entering pre-season properly.

Lukas Nmecha, Jaka Bijol, Sebastiaan Bornauw, Gabriel Gudmundsson, and Sean Longstaff have all become Leeds players in recent weeks, meaning they are making progress but more are set to follow.

In the meantime, with vital months ahead for Farke and the recruitment team, here we have taken a look at some of the latest transfer news and the biggest headlines coming out of the club in another whirlwind week.

Igor Paixao close to Marseille switch over Leeds

One of Leeds’ vital targets has emerged as Igor Paixao. The Feyenoord ace is an exciting Brazilian winger, with Paixao winning Dutch Footballer of the Year in for his incredible campaign over the last year.

It’s been reported previously that Leeds opened talks with Paixao over a month ago now but full Leeds approval of Paixao has since been given in recent days. However, the latest twist is less than promising news.

In the last few days, it’s been stated that Paixao is happy to leave Feyenoord for a new challenge this summer, while Paixao’s replacement has also been arranged at Feyenoord.

In recent days it was stated that Marseille were unwilling to meet Paixao’s asking price, which is over £30 million. Now, however, it seems as though Marseille are closing in on a Paixao agreement and Leeds are set to miss out.

For Farke, far more quality is needed up top, along with extra depth given the uncertainty over Mateo Joseph’s Leeds future. Patrick Bamford has also been told his future lies elsewhere, leaving Leeds needing a centre-forward.

There have been several strikers linked with a move to Leeds this summer. One new name to add to the list is Chelsea’s Marc Guiu. If the name sounds familiar it’s because Leeds were linked with Guiu during the January transfer window.

At the time, Leeds were looking at a loan deal for the 19-year-old Spaniard who came through the ranks at Barcelona before arriving at Chelsea last year. Firepower was needed then and it still is now, which is why Guiu could be on Leeds’ radar again.

Graeme Bailey explained: “I think a loan signing is possible. Marc Guiu at Chelsea is one they’ve looked at as well. They will be doing a few bits. It’s still the middle of July and they’re not panicking.”

Anton Stach medical awaits for Leeds

Leeds aren’t happy with the public nature of the Anton Stach deal, as the move being out there gives Hoffenheim the chance to be tricky negotiators. However, personal terms with Stach and Leeds were quickly in place in spite of that.

Stach is valued in excess of £17 million by the Bundesliga outfit. Also, despite some late interest, VfB Stuttgart won’t sign Stach. Leeds are now pushing ahead to complete a transfer and Fabrizio Romano has confirmed a £17.3 million plus add-ons fee for Stach has been agreed.

Besiktas and Ole Gunnar-Solskjaer were also keen but the allure of Premier League football appears to be what is helping to convince the 26-year-old German international to move to West Yorkshire this summer.

Leeds fans know Stach could be a ‘game changer’, with just a medical and the final details to be ironed out before he becomes the sixth signing of the summer.
