Leeds United transfer rumours latest, including updates on Igor Paixao from Fabrizio Romano, Callum Wilson’s next club, and Mehdi Taremi.

The transfer window has around five weeks remaining for the 49ers and Leeds United, who are continuing their excellent work in the market as more concrete transfer news emerges to add to their seven summer signings.

Only Burnley have been more active in the Premier League so far, but a busy summer still lies ahead at Leeds as Daniel Farke looks to improve several areas of the side, with the Leeds squad getting closer to completion ahead of the club’s return to the Premier League.

Lukas NmechaJaka BijolSebastiaan BornauwGabriel GudmundssonSean Longstaff, Anton Stach, and Lucas Perri have all become Leeds players in recent weeks, meaning they are making plenty of progress but more are still set to follow.

In the meantime, with vital weeks ahead for Farke and the recruitment team in pre-season ahead of Everton visiting Elland Road, here we have taken a look at some of the latest transfer news and the biggest headlines coming out of the club.

Callum Wilson will face Leeds next season after agreeing West Ham deal

Both Mateo Joseph and Patrick Bamford could leave, then leaving Farke needing at least one more striker and possibly more. One such player could have been Callum Wilson, after his release at Newcastle United.

Leeds have been linked with a move for Wilson this summer. Earlier in the window, it was claimed that Wilson was hoping to land a deal with Leeds on a pay-as-you-play basis.

However, earlier this week it was revealed that Wilson was in talks to join West Ham United on a free transfer. Now, Wilson and West Ham have agreed a deal for the veteran, meaning he will face Leeds this season.

Mehdi Taremi’s preference is avoiding a move to Brazil

Whilst Leeds have been linked with a number of players this summer, there have generally been very few strikers linked with a move to Elland Road outside of Wilson and a handful of others.

Now, the Premier League side are understood to be chasing a deal for Inter Milan striker Mehdi Taremi. Reports this week have revealed how Leeds are interested in signing Taremi, with the 33-year-old potentially available.

However, West Ham United and Fulham also like Taremi, and reports revealed that Brazilian side Botafogo were plotting a move to sign Taremi. However, Taremi’s desire is not South American football, with there being more chance of him remaining in Europe.

Leeds now lead Marseille in the race for Igor Paixao

Around three weeks ago now, Marseille stepped up their Igor Paixao interest, and it even looked as though Marseille would seal Paixao’s signature at a different stage of the window. However, Leeds then re-entered the frame for Feyenoord’s star.

It was even claimed yesterday that Paixao favoured a move to Marseille over Leeds. However, the latest update from Fabrizio Romano highlights that the Whites are pushing the hardest now in the race to sign the 25-year-old.

His claim is that Leeds are winning the race to seal a deal for Paixao as quickly as possible, with Leeds said to be “closing in” on the signing. Talk of his preferred destination is just talk, with Leeds a distinct possibility for Paixao in the coming days.
