Leeds United’s search for a new striker has so far, not come up trumps. The club’s pursuit of Rodrigo Muniz is ongoing, but Fulham’s £50m price tag is going to be difficult to reach.

Adam Underwood has tried to save every penny. Bargain deals for Gabriel Gudmundsson, Lukas Nmecha and Sebastiaan Bornauw have arrived, while Leeds only signed Sean Longstaff at the fourth attempt.

But Leeds are still in the market for new signings with a goalkeeper, a new striker and a left winger on their radar. The pursuit of Muniz continues, but at £50m, Leeds will absolutely smash their record deal.

Mateo Joseph has told Daniel Farke he wants to leave Leeds, while Farke has told Patrick Bamford he is not in his plans. Leeds currently boast Joel Piroe, Nmecha and Harry Gray while eyeing a new striker.

Leeds join Premier League clubs in race for Inter Milan striker

A year ago, 33-year-old Mehdi Taremi joined Inter Milan and across 43 appearances during 2024-25, he had a hand in 12 goals. But the Iran international only scored three goals for Inter, and an exit is likely.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Besiktas are interested in Taremi, but CalcioMercato say a whole host of Premier League clubs are also keen. Fulham, Nottingham Forest and West Ham are also interested in Taremi.

But the Italian report also says that Leeds are the latest club to make a move for Taremi. It is unclear how much Inter want for Taremi, but the report does say he earns a whopping £50,000 a week after tax.

A low-cost alternative to Rodrigo Muniz may just suit Leeds…

Taremi is no slouch, either. This is a player that scored 91 goals in 182 games for Porto, a total of 147 goal involvements while with the Portuguese giants. He’s also played in Iran, the Middle East and now Italy.

This is a player that is experienced, good in the air, technically superb and can adapt to new surroundings quickly. A move to England is in his sights before it gets too late and Inter Milan are willing to cash in.

Whether Leeds are open to signing a 33-year-old remains to be seen. But a player that has shown he can do it at the top level and saves Leeds splashing out before consolidating in the top flight, makes sense.
