Leeds United continue to be on the hunt for a new striker, and that striker could well be Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz.
Earlier in the summer, Rodrigo Muniz emerged as an unlikely and ambitious transfer target for Daniel Farke, but over the last few weeks, and in the last week in particular, Leeds United’s links to Muniz have really gathered speed.
It was first understood that Fulham wanted £50m for Muniz. Reports then emerged that Leeds United had seen a £26m bid for Muniz rejected. Whether that £50m fee remains true remains to be seen.
But Leeds United News revealed last week that Leeds are making good progress on a deal for Muniz.

The latest on Rodrigo Muniz to Leeds United
It’s all starting to look pretty promising on the Muniz front for Leeds United. We reported last week that Muniz and his entourage were seemingly open to the idea of joining Leeds United this summer.
Now, Leeds Live are reaffirming that, stating that Muniz is a ‘viable target’ for Farke this summer, and that the club is ‘receiving a good reception from the player’s end’ regarding a possible move from Craven Cottage.
Interestingly, Leeds Live add that Leeds ‘feel they have done most of the legwork in this particular chase’, potentially leaving the transfer with Fulham who must now decide whether they’re ready to sell. It comes amid Fulham’s ongoing search for a new striker, which may suggest that they’re open to selling Muniz this summer.

Will Fulham come down from their £50m valuation of Rodrigo Muniz?
Interestingly, Muniz is out of contract in a year’s time. So Fulham trying to hold out for £50million certainly seems wishful. But the fact that they’ve already knocked back bids for the striker shows that they won’t be about to sell cheap.
And there have also been reports that Spurs have seen a bid for Muniz rejected. It’s thought that their bid reached £32million and so anything north of that might be Fulham’s true valuation of the Brazilian.
Whether or not Leeds will go higher than that remains to be seen. Leeds United have a £150million transfer budget for this summer but Farke is slowly chipping away at that, and with plenty more signings needed, whether he can afford to spend nearly £40million or even more on Muniz remains to be seen.
Expect Fulham to be saying £50million to try and get clubs closer to £40million, which seems like a much fairer price tag.
