Leeds United remain in the hunt for new signings with the arrival of Hoffenheim midfielder Anton Stach said to be imminent and could be announced at some point on Sunday.

But after Stach’s arrival, which will be Leeds’ sixth addition of the summer window, Adam Underwood and his transfer team still have work to do. Focus will move to either end of the pitch for Underwood’s team.

Sebastiaan Bornauw, Jaka Bijol and Gabriel Gudmundsson have come in to solidify the defence and cover the losses of Max Wober and Junior Firpo. Stach and Sean Longstaff add massive quality in midfield.

The duo have been signed after Leeds lost Joe Rothwell and Josuha Guilavogui, with Daniel Farke looking to bolster his midfield ranks with a switch to a 4-3-3 system seemingly on the cards after promotion.

Focus now switches to bring in a goalkeeper to come in ahead of Illan Meslier and Karl Darlow, with the former likely to be sold. A new striker is also expected, as is the signing of a left-sided winger.

Free agent is hoping Leeds offer him a pay-as-you-play deal

If Leeds are to sign a striker, it is expected it will be a big-money one. One that starts up top in front of Lukas Nmecha. Graham Smyth says Leeds want Brazilian trio Rodrigo Muniz, Lucas Perri and Igor Paixao.

But Patrick Bamford has been told he is not in Farke’s plans, while Leeds are ‘holding an auction’ for Mateo Joseph with Celta Vigo joining the race. Leeds may look to bring in another striker for back-up.

Callum Wilson has been regularly linked, even before the England international chose to leave Newcastle. Now, The Sun say Wilson is ‘hoping’ Leeds offer him a pay-as-you-play deal at some point this summer.

Why Bamford news is a boost for Wilson’s chances of Leeds move

Joseph is clearly keen on leaving Leeds, having told Farke he was not ready to play and therefore was not involved in the friendly against Man United. That is despite Willy Gnonto making himself available.

With Joseph seemingly pushing for an exit and Bamford told he has no future at Leeds, The Whites will be reduced to Nmecha, Joel Piroe and a big-name striker like Muniz, if The Whites can get a deal done.

But Nmecha and Piroe can play in other positions and Leeds may look to add a forward with heaps of Premier League experience for cover. A striker to come on late in games. If so, then Wilson is that man.
