Igor Paixao reveals who he wants to join out of Leeds United and Marseille

Leeds United’s pursuit of Igor Paixao is looking stronger by the minute, but there is now a problem.

With the Brazilian trend continuing at Leeds at the moment, Paixao is at the top of the 49ers’ list.

Leeds are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements after Manor Solomon chose to stay at Tottenham.

It seemed nailed on that the Israeli would return to Elland Road, but now it’s clear that Paixao is the main man moving forward.

Leeds bid £26m for Paixao as the transfer seemed to be running smoothly, but now a roadblock has appeared.

Despite the Whites showing increased efforts to secure the Brazilian’s signature, the 25-year-old will be biding his time to make a decision.

Previously, Paixao has expressed he’s unsure about his future, and it’s looking like an exit is nearing.

Where that is to, is another question, as despite Leeds thinking Marseille are ‘struggling’ with the deal, it actually might be the French side who get the last laugh.

Journalist Sebastien Denis is suggesting that Paixao still ‘wants to join Marseille’ this summer, with whom he ‘already has an agreement’, as Roberto De Zerbi now suddenly leads the race.

Negotiations are still ongoing between the French outfit and Feyenoord to try to reach an agreement, with Leeds’ £26m offer now looking irrelevant.

Leeds might have got lucky despite Paixao news

Although it now appears that Paixao is nearing a move to Marseille, this might not be the entire case.

Personal terms have been agreed, but it’s whether De Zerbi’s side can cough up the figure wanted by Feyenoord, and it will be a large one for Paixao’s talent.

Speculation has suggested that Leeds’ £26m won’t be enough and another bid might have to be submitted, but currently, Marseille can’t seem to afford Paixao, which leaves more confusion as to where the winger will end up come the end of the window.

So many twists are happening right now, but one thing is clear, and that seems to be Paixao pushing for a move to Marseille, but the 49ers look to have money on their side.
