Leeds United are having a topsy-turvy saga with Feyenoord winger Igor Paixao this summer.

Daniel Farke and the 49ers seem to be pushing for the Brazilian this transfer window, with his services desperately needed at Elland Road.

Paixao has impressed Liverpool previously, showing how much quality he could bring to Leeds’ Premier League hopes.

Of course, there is always a problem in situations like this, and Marseille seemed to be closing in on Paixao.

But this new update from Sky Sports paints the perfect picture for Leeds fans as things are getting exciting with Paixao.

Bombshell update on Igor Paixao and Leeds United

Farke is craving someone of Paixao’s qualities, as that left-wing role needs to be filled before the opener against Everton.

It’s clear that the 25-year-old has brought stunning reviews with him from his time at Feyenoord, and his ability has been shown on many occasions.

Leeds believe Marseille are struggling with Paixao and don’t think they are actually making any progress on a deal with the Brazilian.

With this in mind, the Whites hierarchy might have actually been right, as Leeds have a fantastic update concerning Paixao.

Sky journalist Zinny Boswell has suggested that Leeds have made a bid in ‘excess of £26m’ for the Feyenoord winger, as it’s suggested the 49ers were ‘biding their time’ before bidding for the Brazilian.

It’s also understood that, like many other deals in this transfer window for Leeds, add-ons will be included, as the fee will rise, with it stated beforehand that Leeds had bid £30m for Paixao instead of the quoted £26m.

Leeds’ suspicions on Marseille’s pursuit of Paixao come true

With Leeds now finally underway in terms of signing Paixao this summer, £26m seems like a bargain for the exciting attacker.

Robin van Persie said Paixao has ‘everything’ and it could turn out that Leeds are signing the next coming of Raphinha.

But what makes this deal so much better is that, as aforementioned, Leeds thought Marseille were struggling when it came to agreeing a fee for Paixao.

These suspicions have become true, according to another Sky journalist, Anthony Joseph.

This could now mean the Whites have a free run at the deal, with it looking like Roberto De Zerbi’s side are out of the race.
