Leeds United’s former midfielder Tyler Adams is now an AFC Bournemouth player but he spent a few months with Daniel Farke back in 2023.

Leeds United are hosting Bournemouth this weekend at Elland Road, and it will mark the fact Tyler Adams is set for a return to Leeds since joining Bournemouth in August 2023.

Bournemouth’s Adams has had serious injury issues over the last couple of seasons on the south coast. However, since then, Adams has improved at Bournemouth since leaving Leeds.

Following the move, Adams gave his verdict on Leeds and the fans eventually in 2024. He said that he didn’t care what Leeds fans think of him and when things are going badly at Elland Road, it’s particularly bad.

In the two campaigns since, Leeds claimed 190 Championship points and won promotion back to the Premier League. Adams has admitted to some Leeds regrets ahead of the game as well.

Tyler Adams reveals his thoughts on Daniel Farke ahead of Leeds vs Bournemouth

Tyler Adams spoke in an interview ahead of the game, which is found on Bournemouth’s Youtube channel. The interviewer asked: “This won’t be an easy game, will it?”

Adams responded: “No, not at all. It doesn’t matter if they lost, won, whatever. You go to Elland Road, it’s always going to be a difficult game. And that’s what the atmosphere brings.

“That’s what that fanbase brings. It’s like an extra player for them. So, yeah, they’ve had an incredible start. Obviously, Daniel Farke, I worked with him briefly before I had joined Bournemouth.

“And he’s a great manager, so I know that he’ll be ready.”

The interview added: “But saying that, this Bournemouth team and the form that you’re in at the moment, and the way that you are playing, you must just be relishing the opportunity to play every Premier League game at the moment.”

Adams explained: “Yeah, absolutely. I think when things are going well and and you’re confident in the team, it almost goes a little bit unnoticed in terms of the environment.

“Like, we’re just happy every single day. We come in here and we do the work that we need to do in order to get better. We’re focused on the details of every single game.

“So, I don’t really think we care who we play. We’re just again relishing the opportunity.”

Leeds upgraded on Tyler Adams with Ethan Ampadu

Daniel Farke has a mixed managerial record against Bournemouth, but this is the first time he has faced them as Leeds manager. He will be desperate for his side to win the midfield battle against the Cherries.

Interestingly, Leeds signed Ilia Gruev and Ethan Ampadu to replace Tyler Adams in 2023. The Leeds captain has proven to be a huge success at Elland Road for a fraction of the price it cost to sell Adams.

Adams even helped to convince Ampadu to join Leeds. He said: “Tyler and I got on well [at RB Leipzig].When the interest was there, I gave him a message and we spoke a little bit.

“He couldn’t speak highly enough about the club. He’s a good friend and we have always stayed in touch.

“I have also seen a lot of the positive messages that I have received, so thank you to everyone. I am very excited this has happened and for the project ahead.”
