The sixth chapter of Leeds United’s fight for Premier League survival sees Daniel Farke’s side welcome Bournemouth to Elland Road on Saturday afternoon, with their tails up.
Bournemouth have started well, boasting one of the Premier League’s most exciting players in Antoine Semenyo. It will also see the return of Tyler Adams to Elland Road, for the first time since his 2023 exit.
Leeds come into the game having secured a second win of the season, away at Wolves. The Whites now return to Elland Road for two successive league games, and the feel-good factor is back among fans.
Bournemouth, meanwhile, drew 0-0 with Newcastle in their last outing – similarly to Leeds. An interesting affair that sees Andoni Iraola take on a side he could have joined, linked heavily after Jesse Marsch’s exit.

Daniel Farke’s record as a manager against Bournemouth
So, what chance do Leeds have come Saturday? Bournemouth could well provide as stern a test as Leeds have faced this season, Arsenal aside. The Cherries currently sit fourth in the Premier League table.
Farke has faced Bournemouth six times in his managerial career, all six while at Norwich. Two apiece in the Championship, Premier League, and Carabao Cup over three years at Norwich, between 2018 and 2021.

Certainly, Farke will be hoping Leeds can replicate his last match against Bournemouth, which saw his Norwich side smash The Cherries, winning 6-0 in a second-round Carabao Cup clash in August 2021.
Farke’s six games against Bournemouth:
| Date | Competition | Venue | Result |
| October 30, 2018 | Carabao Cup | Vitality Stadium | 2-1 Loss |
| October 19, 2019 | Premier League | Vitality Stadium | 0-0 Draw |
| January 18, 2020 | Premier League | Carrow Road | 1-0 Win |
| September 27, 2020 | Championship | Vitality Stadium | 1-0 Loss |
| April 17, 2021 | Championship | Carrow Road | 3-1 Loss |

Leeds’ history against Bournemouth, 4-1 loss last time out
Think Leeds facing Bournemouth, and many will recall the 4-3 comeback win with Marsch still in charge. The American gaffer was on the verge of the sack, but wins over Bournemouth and Liverpool saved him.
That season, Leeds would then go to Bournemouth and suffer a 4-1 loss. It saw Javi Gracia sacked and Victor Orta resign. Leeds and Bournemouth have played each other 15 times, dating back to 1939.

Leeds have won 11 of those matches, while Bournemouth have only won twice – both by the same scoreline of 4-1, with the other defeat to The Cherries coming in 2014. Chris Kavanagh will be referee.
