Last season, it took until early October for any of the newly-promoted clubs to win a Premier League game. Well, this season, Leeds United have recorded two wins in their first five games.
Sunderland and Burnley have also picked up wins this season, with Daniel Farke’s side beating Everton on the opening day and then Wolves last time out. Coming from behind, Leeds beat struggling Wolves 3-1.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Anton Stach, and Noah Okafor all got their names on the score sheet. It was the first time that three players scored their first goals for Leeds in the club’s history, securing three points.
It sees Leeds sit in a comfortable 12th place, securing seven points from five games, and at this rate, survival in the Premier League will be easy. Next up, Leeds have home advantage in their next two games.

Mick McCarthy delivers Leeds verdict, says he is a Leeds fan
Given the form of the previous six promoted sides, who were all relegated, Leeds were not given much chance of survival, but the signs are positive. Ally McCoist has changed his mind on Leeds going down.

Speaking on The Managers podcast alongside Tony Pulis, McCarthy discussed his old side Wolves’ start before saying he wasn’t surprised Leeds have started well, before admitting he is a Leeds supporter.
“I’m so surprised to see Wolves where they are, their run of poor results. Although my team, Leeds, who I support, went and beat them. I wasn’t surprised, Leeds have started well, Wolves have started so badly.”
Predicting Leeds’ next two games before October break
Leeds are two games into the four-match period between the September and October break and having played away at Fulham and Wolves, Farke’s side now have the added advantage of two home games.
But their opposition are tough. Bournemouth are flying under Andoni Iraola and in Antoine Semenyo, boast one of the Premier League’s most exciting players. Thomas Frank has Tottenham playing well, too.

Leeds have a great record against Bournemouth, winning 11 of 15 games. The two sides have only met twice in the last decade, winning 4-3 at Elland Road under Jesse Marsch, but losing 4-1 under Javi Gracia.
Leeds will be looking to simply avoid defeat in both games and take full advantage of the Elland Road crowd. But certainly, Bournemouth and Tottenham will be favourites going into the next two matches.
