Leeds United fans are convinced one man is leaving Elland Road after Plymouth sighting

Leeds United gained promotion to the Championship over Easter, but a run of six wins in a row ensured they also did it as champions today against Plymouth Argyle.

The Whites had to wait until late to seal it through Manor Solomon’s composed finish low into the corner after Willy Gnonto equalised in the second half.

Leeds had to win as Burnley’s 3-1 victory against Millwall meant both teams hit 100 points. It sparked wild celebrations at full-time between players and staff, as well as the four players in the raucous away end.

One figure was more reserved in his celebration, which was the Leeds boss Daniel Farke. It sparked plenty of debate online in the process, with many fans concerned about what it might mean.

Leeds fans react to Daniel Farke’s muted full-time celebration

Farke’s future is less than certain and Paraag Marathe and co. have a big decision to make. However, most fans are saying the same thing and seem to think the choice has already been made.

One fan said: “Farke is definitely gone. Not one celebration.”

Another commented: “Farke looks like he already knows he’s gone. He looks devastated to have won a league title.”

Leeds fans all believe it’s a done deal, with another stating: “Farke looks like a man who’s already been told #lufc”

The likes of Michael Brown and Gabby Agbonlahor have suggested recently that Leeds may have to consider sacking him but Simon Grayson is confident he will remain for the Premier League.

Daniel Farke comments on his future at Leeds

Some may argue that it’s harsh to sack a manager who has lost just one of the last 28 Championship games and collected 100 points on their way to the title this season.

Farke’s comments at full-time helped to clear up the situation for Leeds, perhaps pouring cold water on suggestions he is about to be sacked and clearing up the situation somewhat when speaking to The Yorkshire Evening Post.

Farke said: “First of all, I was so focused to win promotion, but I was a bit greedy in the last days – I wanted to win this title,” he said.

“For everyone at the club, with supporters in the ground, I wanted this so badly and I’m totally run out of energy right now. I feel pretty empty. I was too tired to celebrate; the last hours were so complicated, even the half-time talk was complicated.

“I wanted to be there with the right messages and adaptations. It paid off in the end thank God.”
