Leeds United travel down to Devon to face Plymouth Argyle at Home Park on the final day of their 2024/25 season.
Daniel Farke’s side will be eyeing the league title on their way up from the Championship and back to the Premier League after sealing promotion in recent weeks and battering Stoke City and Bristol City in their final games at Elland Road.

The Whites have an opportunity to secure one of the highest points totals ever having already secured the most in their 106-year history. However, there is still a title to be one in the process.
That’s because the race for the trophy has gone to the final day, with Burnley still matching Leeds every step of the way so far. Both sides sit on 97 points and will finish on 100 if they secure victories this weekend.

Sky Sports’ David Prutton predicts Leeds to win the title against Plymouth
Leeds will likely be without Dan James or Junior Firpo after Farke’s injury update yesterday. Plymouth will have to be prepared as Leeds hunt for the Championship trophy and they have announced plans for if that comes to fruition and Leeds secure the title at Home Park.
The game will be broadcasted live on Sky Sports, and Opta’s supercomputer believes they will get over the line and do it. But what about the pundits? One former Leeds ace has had his say in David Prutton.
Speaking to Simeon Gholam on Sky’s Essential EFL podcast, he provided his verdict. Gholam said: “Let’s just knock off the title quickly while we’re here. Obviously, it’s something that does matter.
“The team I support blew the title several years ago from a very good position and it still rankles me to this day because I’ve never seen us win anything in my entire life.
“But, yeah, Burnley vs Millwall, as we’ve said, you’ve put Burnley to win. So, the only way that Leeds United can win the title is going down to Plymouth Argyle and winning.
“Do you think Leeds will go down to Plymouth and win from what you’ve seen?”
Prutton said: “Yes, I do. I think the real evolution of this team is how they’ve handled pressure. And, yes, they’ve handled the pressure in one sense that they’re promoted — which is the important thing.
“I just think there is a real swagger about them. You look at the game on Monday — yes, it was at home; yes, they’re formidable at home — but I think they go down there and the air of celebration is carried down.
“I think they beat Plymouth who gave it a really fighting shot. I don’t mean that in any condescending way. There is just a gulf between teams who come up and try and consolidate and hang on.
“Unfortunately, managerial appointments and changes haven’t bore the fruit that they were after. But there is a lot to like about them. But I think Leeds win that 2-0.”
Gholam added: “So, Leeds United are our 2024/25 Championship champions. It is amazing.
“If there is one thing you can judge about Leeds in these last weeks it’s how much pressure impacts you in these situations.
“Because, once the valve has been released, it is so abundantly clear how much better they are than every other team in this league.”
Prutton responded: “And let’s quantify it properly, though? They will be — I presume they will have the highest wage bill? Potentially? Maybe chuck Burnley into that as well?
“But it’s been a team that’s been built on trying to get into the Premier League; fell short last season with some very, very good players. Those players or a couple of them have moved on.
“So, I think, all credit to them — but from the point of view of how everything’s built and the finances economically, promotion would’ve been the absolute benchmark, wouldn’t it?”

Where and when the trophy parade will be if Leeds beat Plymouth
Leeds fans were unable to fully celebrate the club’s last promotion to the Premier League in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions around the time of UK lockdown, but they could have a piece of silverware to show off during Monday’s open-top bus parade.
The city of Leeds should be full of life that day, irrespective of whether they are champions or second. The feel-good factor is powerful after it was also revealed this week that there are plans to extend the capacity of Elland Road which have moved forward significantly.
Ahead of Monday, an official statement read: “The parade will follow a mile-long route that will take in the full length of the Headrow, as well as City Square, Boar Lane, New Market Street and parts of Wellington Street and Vicar Lane.”
The parade is scheduled to begin at approximately 1pm and last between an hour and 90 minutes. It will be the first time they have celebrated a promotion properly in 15 years.
