Leeds United have maintained their interest in Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz throughout the summer transfer window.
A modern-day type of number-nine, it’s easy to see why Leeds United are keen to sign someone of Rodrigo Muniz’s profile and style.
Despite the addition of Lukas Nmecha and Joel Piroe’s golden boot award last season, Leeds want another number nine, which will come as a frustration to Piroe if Muniz replaces him.
Over the weekend, Lucas Perri became signing number seven of the summer but Leeds want two more Brazilians, including Muniz and Igor Paixao.

Fulham are yet to respond to Leeds’ second bid for Rodrigo Muniz
It’s likely that a club-record fee from Leeds is required to sign Muniz after it became abundantly clear that Muniz is Leeds’ top striker target this summer transfer window.
Nothing has yet materialised but Leeds are making good progress on a deal for Muniz, as we exclusively revealed.
Others claim that Muniz to Leeds is now gathering pace, with only a few more additions needed to finish off Leeds’ summer window now.
However, a centre-forward of the 24-year-old’s calibre is a key component of that and Leeds believe they will strike a deal for Muniz with Fulham at some stage over the coming weeks.
It’s been reported previously weeks ago that Leeds made a second Muniz bid after an initial £32 million package was rejected as their opening bid.
However, the latest on the situation comes via journalist Felipe Silva. The report states that Paixao and Muniz are Leeds’ primary targets but it also explains Leeds already submitted two offers to Fulham, who are yet to respond to the latest one.
Given how long ago that bid was made, it’s a strange situation for Leeds. They have had no response from Fulham that the bid has been rejected or accepted, in their second attempt to acquire Muniz.
It’s entirely plausible that the Cottagers are keen to add another player to their ranks first, and it’s been reported that other strikers have been linked to Fulham to replace Muniz in recent weeks.
Elsewhere, it has been confirmed that Fulham are planning for Muniz’s departure and have been for a while now. It’s fair to speculate that they are making Leeds wait for their own business to start ramping up.

Leeds have to be careful given the other interest in Muniz
Whether or not Leeds will need to go higher than they already have for Muniz remains to be seen. It’s been claimed Leeds have a £150 million transfer budget for this summer but Farke and co. are slowly chipping away at that.
There are still plenty more signings needed before the September deadline, in spite of already making seven additions. So, whether they can afford to spend nearly £40 million or even more on Muniz remains to be seen.
They will want this one tied up quickly as one of their next most pressing priorities, though. That’s because there have also been reports that Spurs have seen a bid for Muniz rejected previously in this window.
Muniz has other suitors and Leeds cannot afford to miss out. That may mean having to pay over the odds for him, even though that is something the 49ers are reluctant to do, having been savvier in the market this summer than previous regimes were.
