Leeds United will be assessing their transfer options ahead of the summer as Daniel Farke will need to strengthen his side going into a potential Premier League campaign.
Farke knows his squad has the ability to compete in the top flight, but even he knows additions are needed.
With Paraag Marathe seeking a stake in Rangers, this could potentially give the opportunity for Leeds to sign Rangers’ stars.
This is unknown yet but could certainly be a thought for the Leeds hierarchy.
However, there is one name that would be a very promising arrival to Elland Road, and he’s even willing to take a wage cut.
Callum Wilson accepts wage cut to join Leeds United
The 49ers are looking at Premier League targets, and Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson is certainly one of them.
It’s ambitious but Leeds have been linked with Wilson as the 32-year-old has been out of favour under Eddie Howe.
The striker joined the Toon Army for £20m in 2020, but Leeds could be the next possible destination, as Wilson loves Elland Road.
Despite earning more than £100k a week at Newcastle, Wilson could accept the possibility of a wage cut according to transfer expert Graeme Bailey who has revealed the possibility to LeedsUnited.News.
“If Leeds are promoted clearly, there are already players in their squad earning not dissimilar to his Newcastle pay packet,” Bailey said.
“Wilson, though, knows he won’t be getting the same wages he is on now.”

Wilson would be a solid option for Leeds but comes with injury risk
There’s no harm in saying that Wilson on his day is an elite striker, and has shown that with his 88 Premier League goals.
But the striker is known to have a reputation in the medical room, which may put Farke off signing the Newcastle star.

Joel Piroe’s form looks set to keep him as the no.1 option, but if Wilson joins and hits the ground running, Leeds will have some competition up front.
