Leeds United owners the 49ers are set to add Rangers to their plans alongside their current project with the Whites.
News emerged that Paraag Marathe and the 49ers are investigating the Scottish giants as a way of expanding their project.
Daniel Farke and Marathe held ‘important’ talks just a month ago, which could suggest that the owner has already told Farke of his plans.
Many Leeds fans are confused about where that leaves the club in their current status as it has become a strange move from the 49ers.
However, all has now been revealed as to why Marathe could be delving into the prospect of investing in Rangers.

Why Leeds United chief Paraag Marathe wants to buy Rangers
Having not long been in his post at Leeds, Marathe has already got a taste for the footballing world and wants more.
After a quiet transfer window, it seemed the owner went back on his January plans after Marathe didn’t achieve his ‘aggressive’ transfer strategy.
So far though that has been the only hiccup from Marathe who has made a positive start on the Yorkshire side, so why is he looking the way of Rangers?
Well, MailOnline have claimed exactly why, and how Marathe plans to use his wealth as Rangers have an estimated value of £100 million.
The reports suggests that USA sources have said, they will look at Rangers as a ‘good investment’ and the 49ers believe in themselves and their talent.
Like Leeds, Rangers stands out due to a ‘solid fanbase’ but like the idea that The Gers are guaranteed European football every year, which of course, Leeds aren’t at the moment.
It’s reported there is a belief that European football is ‘volatile’, with the possibility of cross-border leagues in the future, and that big clubs are ‘dissatisfied with the status quo and that could open up opportunities for clubs just down the chain’.
The statement ends with the summary that the 49ers landing Rangers is a ‘good catch’ and a deal could be ‘close’.
How the 49ers buying Rangers will affect Leeds’ ownership
With the 49ers making more big moves following Marathe’s plan to expand Elland Road, it could be an exciting venture to add Rangers to their footballing project.
But the Leeds faithful will want to know how this will ultimately affect the 49ers’ focus on the club.
Well, the simple answer is, that it’s unknown as of yet.
Like many footballing owners, there tends to be a temptation to add to what has already turned out to be a success.
It seems as though the 49ers will only invest a small amount into Rangers, as after taking control of Leeds in 2023, the Whites should remain their full focus.
Marathe and Farke have always agreed at Leeds as the future looks bright for the Whites and any signs of that failing looks unlikely.
