Leeds United are likely to have started planning on a potential campaign in the Premier League next season and there is a need for plenty of new additions at Elland Road, if promoted.
With 14 Championship games left to play, Leeds United remain top of the pile going into the weekend’s fixtures. For 24 hours, The Whites had a healthy five-point gap ahead of second-placed Sheffield United.
They were eight in front of Burnley and a whopping 10 in front of Sunderland. But all three promotion rivals won on Wednesday, reducing each deficit by three. On Saturday, Leeds might not even be first.
Leeds face Sunderland next Monday while Sheffield United go to Luton Town on Saturday. But promotion looks likely at Elland Road, and the club are expected to bring in a striker if the club do get promoted.

Leeds interested in signing Newcastle United striker if promoted
The likes of Nick Hammond and Adam Underwood will be busy preparing for next season and where the club needs to strengthen in the summer. A new striker will be arguably, the club’s highest priority.
Graeme Bailey has told LeedsUnited.News that The Whites are one of a number of clubs interested in signing Newcastle striker Callum Wilson. The 32-year-old is out of contract at Newcastle in the summer.
Leeds are said to be considering a 12-month deal for the injury-prone forward, who is earning more than £100,000 a week on Tyneside – more than first-choice striker Alexander Isak but Leeds remain interested.

Newcastle could trigger extension in Callum Wilson contract
The Toon boast the option to extend Wilson’s contract by a year. But The Athletic say that Newcastle are unlikely to do so, given that back and hamstring problems have limited the 32-year-old to six outings.
But a nine-time England international, Wilson has scored 88 goals in 225 Premier League games while also laying on 23 assists. A young squad that lacks Premier League experience, and Wilson changes that.
Leeds are not alone in their interest to sign Wilson but it remains unclear if they will have to agree a fee or a loan with Newcastle for Wilson, or try to sign a free agent come the end of the current campaign.
