Leeds United transfer rumours latest, including updates on Isaac Schmidt, Artem Dovbyk, and Josh Brownhill.

The transfer window has around four weeks remaining for the 49ers and Leeds United, who are continuing to look for players in the market as more serious transfer news emerges to add to their seven summer signings.

A busy end to the summer still lies ahead at Leeds as Daniel Farke looks to improve several areas of the side, with the Leeds squad getting closer to completion and feeling more ready ahead of the club’s return to the Premier League.

Lukas Nmecha, Jaka Bijol, Sebastiaan Bornauw, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Sean Longstaff, Anton Stach, and Lucas Perri have all bolstered Leeds’ ranks in recent months, meaning they are making plenty of progress but more are still set to follow.

In the meantime, with vital weeks ahead for the recruitment team and with Farke’s team in pre-season ahead of Everton visiting Elland Road, here we have taken a look at some of the latest transfer news and the biggest headlines coming out of the club.

Isaac Schmidt hints at Leeds resolution being imminent

Following Schmidt’s £4.6 million move from St. Gallen, the versatile full-back has endured a difficult year. Leeds fans are gutted for Schmidt and how the season has transpired, too.

If he was unable to play much last season, the chances are that game time will be harder to come by this time around. Schmidt is expected to join Werder Bremen, but started against Villarreal on Saturday.

With Jayden Bogle sidelined with a muscle strain, Schmidt started at right-back for the pre-season match. However, he didn’t have his best day out in the Elland Road sunshine.

Since then, Schmidt is now cryptically posting on Instagram. He said “Focus”, which perhaps implies that something is imminent regarding his future.

Josh Brownhill wants Leeds amid Toronto spending big on the midfielder

Someone who could yet again emerge as a possible signing for the Whites is former Burnley midfielder and captain Josh Brownhill.

Brownhill opted not to return to the Clarets in search of a new challenge, and Brownhill actually wants a move to Leeds. However, despite Leeds admiring Brownhill previously, nothing is forthcoming currently, and another move could materialise instead.

It might not be the way forward for the 49ers or the player himself in spite of the long-standing interest, with even Jesse Marsch wanting Brownhill, but the 29-year-old could head elsewhere.

That’s because MLS side Toronto now want Brownhill, with a big-money wage package mooted that they are willing to offer the midfielder.

Leeds target Artem Dovbyk has La Liga and Serie A interest

With Joseph and Patrick Bamford not in the club’s plans, and Lukas Nmecha the only attacking addition thus far, 28-year-old Ukrainian Artem Dovbyk has emerged on their radar.

He has only been with AS Roma for one season but Leeds have now been linked to Dovbyk, and he could prove to be a much cheaper alternative to alternatives. In recent days, Dovbyk’s agent has spoken out on the transfer talk.

There is talk that is a distraction after the centre-forward moved to Rome fairly recently. Newer claims state that Dovbyk could actually cost Leeds £22 million, albeit other clubs are also in the mix for his signature.

It’s reported that Villarreal are in the Dovbyk race, while the most recent reports state AC Milan are also keen on Dovbyk. Leeds are facing plenty of competition if they are serious about this one.
