The January transfer window is now four days old and while there’s been little action as of yet, there is plenty of noise surrounding Leeds United.

It’s been a great first half of the season for Leeds United as they go into 2025 sitting top of the Championship table, with Daniel Farke putting his well-stocked squad to good use.

Leeds are blessed with such a wealth of depth and talent that Farke has insisted the club won’t be very active during the January transfer window but that hasn’t stopped a deluge of players being linked to Elland Road.

Outgoings are more likely this month with Patrick Bamford, Joe Gelhardt and Max Wober all potentially heading for the exit but Leeds may move to replace them should they depart.

The only position that could definitely do with strengthening is creative midfield, with Leeds being one of many clubs linked with a loan move for Louie Barry.

The Aston Villa starlet is far from the only player linked with Leeds, though, and here is all the latest transfer news over the last 24 hours.

Leeds’ already slim chances of signing highly-rated centre-back Abdukodir Khusanov have taken a hit as Manchester City are reportedly now eyeing him.

It was reported ahead of January that Leeds had made a £16.5million bid to RC Lens for Khusanov, however, with interest coming from the likes of City and PSG any move is looking incredibly unlikely.

Fabrizio Romano has reported on X: “Manchester City add RC Lens centre back Abdukodir Khusanov to their list for January.

“There are several top clubs interested in 20-year-old centre-back as he’s considered one of the best talents in his position. Race open, Man City are well informed.”

Leeds have been repeatedly linked with Lausanne Sport winger Alvyn Sanches, who is said to be valued at £7.3m, in recent months.

Though the leading Swiss side are under no pressure to sell one of their star forwards, an interesting development could certainly bolster Leeds’ hopes of making the signing.

A new report from Blick claims that Sanches has changed his agency ahead of the January transfer window and is now represented by the BSG Group.

It’s added Lausanne will do all they can to keep Sanches, who has nine goal this season, at the club this month as they bid to win the Swiss league for the first time in 60 years.

Tottenham to rival Leeds for Ben Godfrey

With the possibility of Wober leaving this month and Leeds having fitness concerns at full-back, the versatile Ben Godfrey looks an intriguing target.

It’s been reported that Leeds are one of several clubs who want to sign Godfrey on loan after the former Everton defender played just once for Atalanta this season since signing for £10m.

However, it appears Leeds face Premier League competition for yet another defender as journalist Rudy Galetti has reported Tottenham have shown ‘interest in Godfrey.

Another report suggests that Ipswich Town might actually be his destination after Godfrey was left impressed by Kieran McKenna.

Bundesliga clubs ruins Leeds Christopher Wooh hopes

It appears that Christopher Wooh is yet another defender Leeds are set to miss out on.

The Whites had reportedly enquired about signing Wooh from Rennes, who are willing to sell him for just £6m, yet it seems Bundesliga side Stuttgart will beat them to the punch.

Lebledparle Sport claims that Wooh is now ‘expected to join Stuttgart’ during the January transfer window and that the transfer is ‘already a done deal’.
