Leeds United are scouring the European market for some new blood in this January transfer window. And it seems like Daniel Farke is most keen on signing a new centre-back, with several linked so far.
Centre-back is certainly a position that Leeds United are light on. And it seems as though Daniel Farke recognises that with his Leeds side having been linked with a number of potential centre-back signings of late.
Most recently, it’s been claimed that Farke could reunite with Andrew Omobamidele who he managed at Norwich City, and who’s set to leave Nottingham Forest on loan during the January transfer window.
Elsewhere, RC Lens’ Abdukodir Khusanov has been mentioned, though Manchester City now want to sign Khusanov, whilst Rennes defender Christopher Wooh is another mentioned alongside a possible winter move to Elland Road.
Recently, it was revealed that Leeds have enquired about signing Wooh from Rennes, where he has a lot of interest emerging from Europe. What’s more is that Rennes are willing to sell Wooh who has a £6million price tag on his head.

However, Wooh doesn’t look set to be joining Leeds United in January. Instead, it looks like the Cameroonian international will be swapping Ligue 1 for the Bundesliga, with Stuttgart apparently closing in on a move.
An emerging report from French outlet Lebledparle Sport says that Wooh is now ‘expected to join Stuttgart’ during the January transfer window and that the move is ‘already a done deal’. No transfer fee is mentioned alongside the move, though.
Wooh, 23, began his career with Nancy, then spending time with RC Lens before joining Rennes during the 2022/23 season. He’s since made 43 Ligue 1 appearances for the club but will now try his hand in the German top tier.
Daniel Farke’s updated transfer plans for Leeds United
Leeds won’t be doing a load of business in January. Instead, it’s long been though that the club will improve the team here and there, and manage who goes out too.
Speaking after the Black Rovers draw, Farke revealed Leeds United January transfer plans haven’t changed, and that his side will be more ‘reactive’ than active.
He said: “Our recruitment is prepared for every scenario. We’re just being reactive in the market because we can’t afford to have four or five players in every position.
“I don’t think these injuries are that serious. This game won’t influence the January window.”
Wooh joining Stuttgart may not be such a huge blow for Leeds, despite them being light on centre-backs. Plenty of other names are linked and expect the Whites to sign at least one before the transfer deadline.
