Daniel Farke might be able to land some gems this summer at Leeds United.
The hope will be that Farke can replicate Ao Tanaka’s arrival, as his £3m transfer fee was an absolute bargain.
The 49ers will have to be smart, but also ruthless, especially if they want to remain in the Premier League.
With Mateo Joseph’s asking price at £12.75m, this could add funds to a budget where Paraag Marathe is looking to spend £100m.
However, one target has just been handed a major discount to Leeds, which Farke and co need to seize upon.

Leeds United handed asking price for Hidemasa Morita
Farke will know he has to strengthen in all areas of the squad to achieve safety next season.
That is the only aim for the Whites’ return to the top flight, and anything on top of that is a bonus.
It’s become clear that Gustavo Hamer could leave Sheffield United, as he would be a welcomed addition around Elland Road.
But another similar-type midfielder might be the perfect deal, with the 49ers getting a Champions League established player for just under £7m.
Hidemasa Morita has emerged on Leeds’ radar and now the Print Edition of Record (02/05/25) are giving more reason why this deal should happen.
The report states that Leeds are ‘well placed’ to complete a deal to sign Morita from Sporting Lisbon this summer.
It’s clear the 29-year-old is ‘tempted’ by the prospect of moving to the Premier League as Sporting are willing to let the midfielder go for €8m (£6.8m).

Leeds have chance to use £32m discount on Morita
With the 49ers wanting six major signings at Leeds, they could have one checked off early in Morita.
A new midfielder will be needed as it’s not set in stone yet that Joe Rothwell will be joining the Whites permanently.
Tanaka seems like the only midfielder who seems certain in Farke’s lineup, and this gives more reason why signing Morita would work.
After their time with the Japan national team, Tanaka loves Morita and Leeds would already get a perk with their connection.
Leeds would be getting a mix of an attacking output whilst also being defensively sound, as Morita has been known to pop up with goals in Lisbon.
Adding to this with the £6.8m fee stated, the Whites will be handed a discount as Morita has a £39m clause in his contract.
It seems like a no-brainer as alternative options might be out of the ownership’s budget if they want six major arrivals.
