With Leeds United’s promotion celebrations beginning to calm down, the focus has turned to the title chase.
Whatever happens after Saturday’s results, both Burnley and Leeds can be proud of the seasons they’ve had.
The title could ultimately come down to goal difference, as Daniel Farke’s side have been far superior in that department.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 1 | 45 | 28 | 13 | 4 | 93 | 29 | 64 | 97 | |
| 2 | 45 | 27 | 16 | 2 | 66 | 15 | 51 | 97 |
It’s set to be some showdown and one which Farke will be hoping ends with the trophy in white, yellow and blue ribbons.
Following their promotion though, Erling Haaland congratulated Leeds, but Farke has now revealed another ‘world-class’ striker sent him a private message.

Marcus Thuram’s message to Daniel Farke after Leeds United promotion
Farke has coached some brilliant players who have go on to do some brilliant things.
No more than Marcus Thuram, who has been a top striker in Europe for the last three seasons now, as Farke had the pleasure of managing him at Borussia Monchengladbach.
The Leeds boss has his own top striker in Joel Piroe, but will no doubt take someone of Thuram’s stature.
It might be the piece Leeds need for success, as the 49ers plan to spend £100m in the summer.
But away from that, Farke revealed that Thuram sent a private message to him after promotion was secured.
Speaking in his final pre-match press conference of the season, Farke said: “Marcus was a great talent, he has everything, he has developed into a world-class striker.
“He was one of the first guys who wrote me a little message when we were promoted. How much we deserved it, how happy he is.”

Farke can take inspiration from Thuram at Leeds
The Whites manager clearly sees Thuram as a top striker in the game, as ‘world-class’ comments don’t get thrown around easily.
Of course, Farke’s Leeds know everything about goalscoring with 93 finding the net in the Championship this season.
However, goals won’t come as easy in the Premier League, and Farke will hope to sign someone similar to Thuram.
The Frenchman showed his excellence in the Champions League on Wednesday night after scoring a neat flick for Inter Milan in a 3-3 draw with Barcelona.
Farke was asked if he can take credit for the goal but instead said: “He gets lots of compliments from me for such an important goal, as well as some stick. I can’t take any credit for his goal, he gets much more from his Father.”
Leeds could sign ‘Andriy Shevchenko’ in Vladyslav Vanat, who is a target, as whoever Farke brings in upfront will do well to replicate Thuram, let alone Shevchenko.
