Leeds United News have the latest on the club’s pursuit of new strikers this summer, including their pursuit of Rodrigo Muniz.
Leeds United are keen to sign someone of Rodrigo Muniz’s profile this summer, with a number of the players they have targeted being comfortably above 6’0″ already.
They need someone who can lead the line as the focal point of the attack and it’s clear that Muniz is Leeds’ top striker target this summer transfer window.
The problem is that Leeds have been met with competition in the race over the last few days, with Newcastle United said to have joined the Muniz race alongside others.

Leeds also weigh up Beto as Rodrigo Muniz pursuit continues
The club were said to have made positive progress on a deal for Muniz in recent weeks, with Muniz to Leeds meant to be accelerating via some reports.
Newcastle’s interest has also been added to, though, with Serie A outfit Atalanta BC also eyeing Muniz. Leeds’ top target will not be an easy deal to complete.
We asked Leeds United News’ transfer correspondent Graham Bailey for the latest on the situation and on potential contingency plans as well.
He said: “It’s not news that intermediaries are doing the work. Fulham remain in talks over a new deal, however.
“They still want to keep him, but until they get the new deal signed, it’s not going to stop other people offering him elsewhere.
“He’s a good Premier League striker with a high ceiling. He’s still quite young, so he’s going to get linked around.”
On other alternatives to Muniz, Bailey added: “From what I’m told, I still don’t think Beto’s completely off Leeds’ list and off the table.
“I still think Everton are looking at other strikers as well, so if they brought another one in, Beto might still be an option.
“I wouldn’t rule him out at all. He’s still on the radar and a work in progress still, even if he’s not Leeds’ first-choice.”
Beto was first linked to Leeds at the start of the summer window but remains a Premier League ready option, despite a number of Leeds fan concerns regarding Beto.

Beto’s goal and assist stats with Everton so far
Beto and Josh Sargent emerged as Leeds targets more recently, although it’s been claimed as ‘difficult to envisage’ Everton sanctioning an exit to Leeds at one stage.
The 27-year-old started life slowly at Everton but Beto’s 2024/25 season form has improved. In terms of profile, though, he can be a focal point of an attack due to his sheer frame, size, and power.
| Season | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| 2023/24 | 37 | 5 | 2 |
| 2024/25 | 35 | 12 | 1 |
Besiktas also like Beto, but any exit is likely to hinge on David Moyes adding to Thierno Barry’s signing with a second Everton striker through the door.
