Leeds United may have already turned their nose up at one reported summer transfer target, with Daniel Farke seeing it as too much of a risk.

Daniel Farke has a make or break summer lying ahead. It’s reported that Farke will remain in charge of Leeds United ahead of next season, to the debate of some Leeds fans, and so he has to absolutely get this summer right in order to keep his job.

It’s going to prove tricky navigating a Premier League transfer market with so many teams competing for the top players and only a finite amount of resources to go out and buy the best.

But Leeds United have a £100million transfer kitty ready for the summer and a growing list of reported transfer targets, with some exciting names now being linked with summer moves to Elland Road.

One name recently linked is Beto. It’s reported that Leeds United are keen to sign Beto from Everton after a couple of mixed seasons, with 10 goals in 57 Premier League appearances for the club following his £26million arrival in 2023.

Leeds United not ready to take a risk on Everton striker Beto

It’s already been claimed that Everton are ready to sell Beto this summer, with David Moyes also looking towards a big summer transfer window ahead of the Toffees’ move to Bramley-Moore Dock. But for Leeds United, Beto might be too much of a risk.

Given the price tag it would take and Beto’s mixed scoring form in the Premier League it seems like a move that certainly has a lot of risk involved for Leeds United and Farke, who’d likely have to spend quarter of his summer transfer purse on Beto.

Speaking to Leeds United News transfer expert Graeme Bailey revealed on the situation: “Beto has had a good season, remarkable considering from where he was. A lot of that is down to Moyes. I don’t believe Everton are that keen to move on from him. Everton paid a decent whack for him.

“Clearly, his people want him to play regularly. Would Leeds be interested? I don’t see why not. But I don’t see Leeds taking that risk.”

The latest on Leeds United’s search for a new striker

Farke certainly needs a marquee signing up front, or at least two signings that would greatly bolster the attacking ranks without being a marquee signing as such.

Recent reports have revealed that Leeds United are readying a bid for Troy Parrott after his 20-goal haul for AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands this season, whilst Jamie Vardy is another target.

Vardy is leaving Leicester City and it’s understood that Leeds have him on their radar, though this link has garnered a very mixed reaction from fans online.

Beto is the latest name being linked and he’s arguably being linked more closely than either Parrott or Vardy. But Leeds United fans aren’t keen on Beto and it seems like Farke has reservations too.
