If Leeds United are going to avoid relegation back to the Championship, then The 49ers need to sign a proven Premier League goalscorer to fire The Whites towards safety.
With promotion, the Championship title and the parade completed, Adam Underwood and his transfer team can now focus on bringing in the necessary signings to keep Leeds in the Premier League next term.
Plenty of new players have already been linked with a move to Elland Road, with a new striker deemed a priority. Dom Calvert-Lewin and Danny Ings are among those to have been touted with a move to Leeds.
This week, Calvert-Lewin’s teammate Beto has also been linked with a move to Elland Road. Another option could be a shock move to sign Leicester City legend and Premier League winner, Jamie Vardy.

Simon Grayson says if he would sign Jamie Vardy for Leeds
With Vardy ending his 13-year spell at Leicester this summer after The Foxes were relegated, the striker is on the lookout for a new club. Given his age, the MLS or other leagues like that are expected for Vardy.
But Leeds have also been linked with a move for the 38-year-old, who still managed to score eight goals in the Premier League this season. Simon Grayson says he would offer Vardy a one-year deal at Leeds.
“He’s still got the desire and the hunger, his legs are probably going but he’s still got something about him, maybe one season as a squad player. If he goes to a Premier League club he isn’t going to start.”
What will happen to Leeds’ current options up top?
Well, Joel Piroe will remain at Leeds. The Dutchman scored 19 goals for The Whites and won the League’s golden boot last season – although a total of 19 is particularly low to win the golden boot at this level.
Patrick Bamford’s future is a doubt. The one-time England man is said to be the club’s highest earner, but Bamford is in the final year of his contract and failed to score a single goal during the 2024-25 campaign.
Graham Smyth expects Bamford to go while Mateo Joseph remains on Real Betis’ radar after Leeds turned down a bid for the Spaniard in the summer. Leeds have set a £12.75m price tag for Joseph this summer.
