Even before the summer transfer window has opened, Leeds United have been dealt their first blow of the summer.
It certainly won’t be the last, either. Leeds United have lofty ambitions for the 2025 summer transfer window but they’re now a Premier League side, facing Premier League competition in bids to sign Premier League-quality players.
Leeds United are ready to spend £100million this summer in a bid to finally establish themselves in the Premier League. For manager Daniel Farke, the spending will need to be savvy, as £100million doesn’t buy a whole new team anymore.
There’s multiple positions that need bolstering in the side: in goal, in the full-back departments, in the middle of the pitch and up top. What Farke’s priority is right now remains to be seen.
But the full-back department looks like a pressing concern. Junior Firpo looks set to leave Leeds United along with Sam Byram, really leaving just Jayden Bogle as Farke’s available full-backs.

Bright Osayi-Samuel agrees Crystal Palace move amid Leeds United interest
One player who Farke has been looking at is Bright Osayi-Samuel. Leeds United tried to sign Osayi-Samuel last season but failed with a £7million bid. He’s now set to become a free agent after Fenerbahce failed to agree new terms. But Osayi-Samuel looks set to join Crystal Palace.
An emerging report from Turkish outlet Fotomac has revealed that Crystal Palace and Osayi-Samuel have agreed terms on a four year deal worth €4.5million-a-year (£3.8million), or about £73,000-a-week which is well above Leeds United’s current pay scale, despite promotion to the Premier League.
The same report adds that Nigerian international Osayi-Samuel, 27, has already accepted the terms.

Leeds United handed Kyle Walker-Peters boost amid Bright Osayi-Samuel blow
Osayi-Samuel is a right wing-back and someone who could’ve given some competition for Jayden Bogle next season. Another name being looked at is Kyle Walker-Peters who is out of contract at Southampton in the summer.
And it’s recently been revealed that manager Marco Silva faces an uncertain future at Fulham, just a couple of weeks after it was reported that the Cottagers were set to open talks with Walker-Peters at the end of the campaign.
it opens the door for Leeds to swoop in amid the uncertainty at Craven Cottage but there’s others interested too, like West Ham, Everton, and even Spurs.
Farke and Leeds United need to be acting quickly all summer if they want to get the best deals.
