Turkish outlet A Spor claim Leeds United and Bournemouth have opened talks to sign Fenerbahce wing-back Bright Osayi-Samuel this summer – with a fee in the region of £9m enough to convince the SuperLig giants to cash in.
Osayi-Samuel, 25, moved to Turkey from London outfit QPR in January 2021 and has spent the last two and a half years in the SuperLig. Leaving QPR as a winger, he has since been converted into a full-back while at Fenerbahce.
While at QPR, he had a hand in 26 goals in 115 games and beforehand, played 79 times for Blackpool. The three-time Nigeria star has plenty of experience in England’s second tier, and offers plenty of versatility on the flanks too.
His 109 outings in the Championship may certainly come in handy if Leeds do decide to press on and bring him to Elland Road. A Spor say Leeds and Bournemouth are in talks for Osayi-Samuel, with Fener looking for a £9m fee.

A good player, but he is certainly not worth what Fenerbahce are requesting for him. Osayi-Samuel would offer competition on the right of defence – but it is hardly a position that needs strengthening, even if Cody Drameh goes.
He can play on either flank too, but again, not a position that requires strengthening. That does change is Jack Harrison, Willy Gnonto and Luis Sinisterra leave – with all three expected to be part of the exodus of Leeds players.
It might be a case of waiting to see what we have got before making a decision on him. But at £9m, he is expensive. Leeds will have cash to play with but spending £9m of it on Osayi-Samuel is a big risk. Better options out there.
