One relegated Premier League star could be on his way to Leeds United this summer, after the latest news coming out of Fulham handed Daniel Farke’s side a boost.
Leeds United have been promoted to the Premier League and will once again pit themselves against some of the world’s best teams.
The 49ers want to stabilise Leeds United in the Premier League after a two year hiatus in the Championship, and after a century of mostly languishing in the Football League.
This summer, the Whites look set to spend big. It’s reported that Leeds United will spend £100million in the transfer market, but the club will no doubt utilise the loan and free markets too.
Like in the 2024/25 season where Farke made good use of the loan market, signing the likes of Joe Rothwell and Manor Solomon, Leeds United could look to attract some top end Premier League players to Elland Road on a temporary basis this summer.
Meanwhile, they’ve been linked with one standout free agent in particular in Kyle Walker-Peters.

Marco Silva uncertainty at Fulham casts doubt over Kyle Walker-Peters deal
Leeds United are interested in signing Walker-Peters as a free agent this summer. The flying full-back looks set to leave St Mary’s after their relegation to the Championship, but Fulham have also been linked. It was reported recently that Fulham were set to open talks with Walker-Peters at the end of the season.
But talkSPORT are now reporting what’s going on behind-the-scenes at Craven Cottage and it might come as good news to Leeds United where a deal for Walker-Peters is regarded. Silva is reportedly stalling on a new contract at the club, waiting on an offer from Saudi outfit Al-Hilal.
The same report adds that Silva is open to leaving Fulham and to making the move to Saudi Arabia this summer, and that surely puts a halt on any upcoming Fulham transfer business as they’ll have a managerial change to deal with.

Who else wants to sign Leeds United target Kyle Walker-Peters?
Fulham and Leeds United aren’t the only sides in this particular transfer hunt. Earlier in the year it was revealed that Everton and West Ham like Walker-Peters and could make their move this summer as well.
It’s also been reported that Spurs could re-sign Walker-Peters this summer. But the Whites have a long-standing interest in the former England man, after Leeds United tried to sign Walker-Peters from Southampton last summer.
If Leeds can pull this one off then it would be a huge coup, especially considering the lack of full-back options right now. Fulham’s uncertainty is certainly a boost but there remains other sides keen on Walker-Peters, who was once described as a ‘fantastic player’ by former Saints boss Ruben Selles.
