Leeds United may already be feeling the heat in the transfer market, following their promotion to the Premier League.
The season and the celebrations are over. Now it’s crunch time for Leeds United who have a crucial summer transfer window lying ahead of them.
Daniel Farke, who will remain in charge of Leeds United for next season, has many a player to sign this summer and he’s already seeing his side being linked with a number of names.
There’s some experienced names linked and some lesser-known ones too. But the constants seem to be the positions Farke wants to bolster.
And right now it looks like the goalkeeper position is a key one. Illan Meslier is tipped to leave Leeds United after losing his starting spot and there’s a number of names tipped to replace the Frenchman at Elland Road.

Man United join Leeds United in race to sign Aaron Ramsdale
Ramsdale is available for £20million following Southampton’s relegation. It seems like a pretty steep price for a goalkeeper with now two relegations from the Premier League on his CV, and for a Leeds United side who are newly-promoted too.
But the Whites have been linked with five-time England international Ramsdale for several weeks now. It’s not just Leeds United who are interested in the 26-year-old, though. A recent report from Mirror has added Man United to Ramsdale’s list of summer suitors.
In 27 Premier League appearances in 2024/25 Ramsdale kept just two clean sheets, conceding 62. But despite missing a large part of the season through injury, the former Arsenal man made the second-most saves of any goalkeeper in the Premier League (113).

Aaron Ramsdale’s transfer preference revealed amid Leeds United links
Ramsdale has a relegation clause at Southampton. The actual cost of said clause has been debated but it’s understood to be worth somewhere between £20-25million and so it’s now down to Leeds United, or whomever, to activate his relegation clause at St Mary’s.
And the Englishman’s transfer reference has since been revealed too. It’s been reported that Ramsdale wants to say in England beyond this season, ideally in the Premier League, and after his impressive 2024/25 he should eventually find himself a Premier League spot.
For Leeds, though, the more teams that show an interest, the pricier it could become to sign Ramsdale. They might have to act fast and simply activate this relegation release clause.
