One Leeds United target could be on his way to the Premier League this summer, but it might not be with Elland Road.
Leeds United have several transfer targets now on their radar. Right now all the focus seems to be on attacking signings but there’ll more than likely be plenty of defensive signings this summer too.
Daniel Farke certainly has some gaps to fill at the back. Junior Firpo looks set to leave Leeds United whilst Sam Byram is out of contract, then in the middle there’s a distinct lack of depth, especially considering Pascal Struijk’s injury record with the club.
Leeds United have been promoted to the Premier League and it looks like the 49ers will back Farke in the transfer market this summer, after confirming that Farke will be in charge for next season.

Koni De Winter attracting Premier League clubs amid Leeds United links
Leeds fans may have heard the name Koni De Winter mentioned alongside a move to Elland Road this year. The Genoa man has been linked with Leeds throughout the year with reports back in March saying that Leeds United were facing a £30million battle to sign De Winter this summer, with the likes of Man United and Bayern Munich also keen.
And now an emerging report from Italian outlet Gianluca DiMarzio has revealed that Italian giants Inter Milan have ‘made an inquiry’ to sign De Winter, 22, ahead of the summer. The same report also adds that ‘several Premier League clubs have also made moves… asking the Serie A club [Genoa] for information’.
In 2024/25 former Juventus man De Winter has played 23 times in Serie A, scoring three times.

Koni De Winter has earned Vincent Kompany comparisons at Genoa
Speaking earlier in the year the Genoa centre-back gave an interview, and De Winter said he plays like Vincent Kompany in the way he runs with the ball and so on.
De Winter said: “All my life I have been told I play like Vincent Kompany. I have this ability to make runs with the ball like he did, I have the same technical side. It’s a really big name, so I one day hope to be able to live up to him.”
At 22 and with a lot of interest, De Winter certainly seems like someone who clubs like Man United and Inter think could blossom into the next Kompany. For Leeds, though, the price tag and the growing level of interest could rule them out of the running pretty soon.
But it’s definitely the type of signing fans will want to see this summer and if Leeds can pull it of, it would be a massive coup.
