Leeds United fans have made their feelings known about one rumoured summer signing, following the club’s promotion to the Premier League.

Leeds United have won the Championship title and the club celebrated in style on Monday. It comes after Daniel Farke’s side beat Plymouth Argyle 2-1 on the final day of the season, ending the campaign on six-straight wins.

And now we’re seeing the transfer rumour mill really start to churn with Leeds being linked with more and more new names. Some exciting and some not so. One who falls into the latter category for fans is Jamie Vardy.

Leeds United are reportedly keeping tabs on Vardy who is set to leave Leicester City as a free agent this summer.

Leeds United fans don’t want Jamie Vardy to sign this summer

Needless to say Leeds United fans had plenty to say about the Vardy rumours. “Awful move for Leeds,” read one comment. “He’s washed and finished! Father Time spares no one!”

Meanwhile other comments read “Don’t you dare” and “No thank you,” as one Leeds fan asked: “Leeds lacking ambition already?”

“Can’t see it,” added another. “This has Wrexham written all over it.” Another fan wrote: “Jamie Vardy has had his day.”

This Leeds United fan posted: “I don’t believe this is true. He is old and ready to retire. I think it would be better if he retired with the Foxes, it would be a good story.”

Leeds United have just added another striker to their summer radar

Amid these emerging links to Vardy, Leeds United have just added another new name to their summer transfer wishlist in Troy Parrott.

The former Spurs man is now at AZ Alkmaar where he’s scored 14 in 28 Eredivisie outings this season and Leeds could now hand him an unexpected Premier League return in the summer.

It comes amid speculation that Patrick Bamford will leave Leeds United this summer, which would leave Farke even lighter in that no.9 position.

New names are needed but whether or not Vardy is the answer remains to be seen.
