Andrea Radrizzani warns Daniel Farke about a big ‘mistake’ he made at Leeds United

Daniel Farke will be preparing for an exciting transfer window at Leeds United, but he must exercise caution when entering it.

The 49ers will hope that they can do enough behind the scenes to keep Leeds in the Premier League next season.

After a hugely successful campaign, there is a clear desire from the ownership to push on, and Paraag Marathe wants Leeds competing in Europe.

But first, they have to get over the obstacle of ending the recent trend of newly-promoted clubs being relegated, which will be a difficult task in itself.

Well, former owner Andrea Radrizzani has already said that Farke is set to make a mistake that he should’ve avoided.

Former Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani sends warning to Daniel Farke

Radrizzani doesn’t have much of a leg to stand on when giving out advice, as Radrizzani has done things that are ‘truly absurd’.

It’s clear there is a major difference between Marathe’s methods and the Italian who ultimately failed at Elland Road.

The former owner will be shocked to see Leeds triumph in the Championship after his tenure and it’s clear Premier League survival is more likely under Marathe.

However, despite his failures, Radrizzani has shared a ‘mistake’ that he made which Farke could replicate.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Radrizzani spoke on how he should’ve signed more established Premier League players, instead of looking around Europe.

“Absolutely, yes, and in our case I think the mistake I probably have done and we had done with the management is that we didn’t hire enough players with maturity and experience in the Premier League,” Radrizzani said.

“We bet on players with high quality but no experience in the Premier League.

“So, we brought in a lot of players from Austria or Germany or other countries with absolutely zero minutes in English football and that I think it is a big gap.”

Farke could now emulate Radrizzani ‘mistake’ at Leeds

When speaking about bringing in players from Germany being a mistake, it’s not a good look on Leeds when you’ve got a manager who loves doing exactly that.

Farke will have a major role in transfers, and at times there has been success through the Bundesliga with Ao Tanaka.

He did the same with Georginio Rutter who gave the Whites a nice £40m for their troubles.

But as mentioned, there is a gap between the two leagues and Radrizzani may be concerned that Farke will do the same in the top flight.

This is after Farke sent scouts to Germany for Leeds, and despite potentially finding the next Tanaka, Leeds could also sign their next Tyler Adams.
