Aaron Ramsdale shares his transfer preference after links to Leeds United

The 49ers will be drawing up candidates to fill in for the vacant goalkeeper position at Leeds United.

Karl Darlow might disagree that the keeper role is vacant after promising performances in recent weeks, but Daniel Farke might not stick with the keeper long-term.

It seems like Illan Meslier is out of the frame now, and after being their number one for six seasons, it’s finally time for a change.

Leeds have the green light for Jeremias Ledesma, who looks to be an ideal candidate for the spot.

Aaron Ramsdale is another, and despite Ramsdale coming with a large fee, Leeds might want to stay involved after a recent update.

It’s pivotal that the Whites sign a keeper this summer, as despite Darlow’s impact, they need new ideas in net.

Meslier has had enough chances in goal, so it’s clear an exit is likely from Elland Road, and with it likely they’ll be back in the top flight next season, they’ll need a keeper they can rely upon.

Ramsdale joining might not be the exact way to go, but if all else fails, Leeds already have an advantage over other clubs when it comes to signing the 26-year-old.

According to The Sun, Man United have now entered the race after already having their own goalkeeping nightmares.

The outlet understands that Ramsdale’s preference is to stay in England as clubs abroad are also looking into the prospect, as the keeper wants to make sure he can find a spot in Thomas Tuchel’s England plans.

Ramsdale wouldn’t be the right fit for Leeds and Farke

With it seemingly looking like there are limited keeper options out there, Ramsdale might have to be the option Leeds settle for, but this shouldn’t be the case.

It’s clear that Leeds fans wouldn’t welcome the Ramsdale signing, with some even suggesting he’s worse than Meslier.

Going off his relegation record this could be the case, as Ramsdale has now suffered his third relegation from the Premier League which is something Leeds need to steer clear from.

Although Ian Wright thinks Ramsdale will suit Leeds, Farke should aim in a different direction and not follow the same suit as Southampton, who have had a disastrous season.

This isn’t all on Ramsdale, but it’s not a good look for the 49ers if these are the types of players they look to for Premier League safety.

If the Whites were destined to stay in the Championship, then yes, a solid option, but Leeds are only looking up.
