One player wanted by Leeds United ahead of the summer may not play again at all this season, and may not play again until next season either.

Leeds United have a pretty extensive list of transfer targets right now. Going into the January transfer window, during it, and then in the weeks since, there’s been more and more players mentioned alongside a move to Elland Road.

Daniel Farke appears to be keen on bolstering his side with some extra star quality ahead of the summer and ahead of what remains a likely promotion to the Premier League, with his side sitting in 1st place of the Championship table despite a 2-2 draw at QPR last time out.

Current an former Premier League names are being mentioned as Leeds targets: Tammy Abraham is linked as he faces uncertainty at Roma whilst Southampton trip Aaron Ramsdale, Kyle Walker-Peters and Cameron Archer are all targets for Leeds United.

And it’s in goal where we might see Leeds make their first move in the summer, or even before, with Illan Meslier’s poor recent form a definite cause for concern.

Caoimhin Kelleher wanted by Leeds United, he may have played his last game for Liverpool

Along with Ramsdale, another goalkeeper mentioned with Leeds is Caoimhin Kelleher. It’s been reported for several months now that Kelleher is a target for Leeds United and that the Liverpool man will leave Anfield in the summer, although he has interest from some big name Premier League clubs like Chelsea among others.

The latest on Kelleher comes from Liverpool Echo. They discuss Kelleher’s situation and the growing transfer interest in his services, and even suggest that the Irishman may have played his final game for the Reds, with Alisson by far the no.1 choice and a summer exit for Kelleher looking more and more nailed on.

It’s been claimed that Liverpool could sell Kelleher for £20million in the summer despite previous reports that the Reds wanted £30million for the 26-year-old.

Premier League club ready to make opening bid for Caoimhin Kelleher

Chelsea aren’t the only team currently linked with Kelleher. There’s also been links with Nottingham Forest in the past and more recently, Tottenham Hotspur.

But it’s Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth who plan on making the first move for Kelleher ahead of the summer with recent reports stating that the Cherries will break the ice with an opening offer.

That could all but rule Leeds out of the race as anyone linked with Leeds is surely waiting to see whether or not they get promoted this season. By which point, other clubs could’ve gotten ahead in the race for certain names, with Kelleher being a prime example.

One thing seems nailed on though, and that’s that he’ll be leaving Liverpool this summer.
