Leeds United could be set to miss out on what would be a bargain signing, with Galatasaray having reportedly put an offer on the table for one name linked with a move to Elland Road.
Whilst Leeds United could be about to spend big in the summer transfer window, it would be fair to assume that they’ll make checks of the free agents list, with some potentially hidden gems available to Daniel Farke’s side.
Last summer, the Whites spent relatively well, paying £10million for Joe Rodon and then another £7million for Largie Ramazani, whilst cashing in on several names, with some big transfer sums arriving at Elland Road.
Spurs signed Archie Gray for £30million whilst Georginio Rutter was sold for a staggering £40million to Brighton, so if Leeds get promoted this season then we could see some similar fees being spent on new signings.
One name that Farke could sign for absolutely nothing though is Bright Osayi-Samuel.

Galatasaray make controversial move for Leeds United target Bright Osayi-Samuel
Leeds United have been linked with Osayi-Samuel who currently plays for Fenerbahce, where he’s been since leaving QPR in 2021. The right wing-back, who also represents the Nigerian national team, is out of contract in the summer and boasts interest from the Premier League as well, with Crystal Palace linked with a move along with Leeds.
But reports coming out of Turkey have now revealed that Fenerbahce’s arch rivals Galatasaray have made their move. Sok Gazetesi report that ‘Galatasaray has strengthened its position by offering an attractive salary offer to the player’, also adding ‘that Saudi Arabian clubs are also in the game’.
The 27-year-oold Osayi-Samuel has made an impressive 170 total appearances for Fenerbahce with seven goals and 13 assists along the way. This season he’s made 31 total appearances for Jose Mourinho’s side, with one assist.

Bright Osayi-Samuel’s wage demands revealed amid Leeds United interest
Ahead of the summer, and ahead of what might become a scramble for his signature, it’s been revealed that Osayi-Samuel will demand a £2.1million-a-year salary from his next club, or just over £40,000-a-week.
That would make his Leeds United’s current highest-earner ahead of Patrick Bamford. So for Leeds, signing Osayi-Samuel would be a big commitment, especially because they’d likely have to offer him a fairly longer contract in a bid to tempt him to Elland Road anyway.
But he’s proved to be a solid player in the Turkish top flight, as Galatasaray’s emerging interest and links to Premier League clubs proves. If a controversial move to Galatasaray falls through then Leeds could quickly swoop in.
