Daniel Farke has shared how close Leeds United have come to signing anyone this month.
Leeds are still yet to make a single signing since the January window opened and now have just over 24 hours to completing any remaining business, meaning the clock is very much against them.
Farke has made it apparent throughout the window that he feels he is a couple of players short, particularly in defence, where they have lost Djed Spence and Luke Ayling.
Despite that, Leeds have been slow to bring in potential replacements, with a host of names having been linked with moving to Elland Road, that just never have.
And speaking in his pre-Bristol City press conference, Farke has now revealed whether Leeds have actually come close to bring anyone in at all, with the clock ticking towards the deadline.
Farke shares Leeds transfer update
He said: “Yes if I’m allowed to speak about some secrets there were one or two that were pretty close, then there was an injury and we can’t afford to bring them in when injured. I don’t want to speak about names, I want to speak about other clubs and players under contract with class.”
It would appear the closest Leeds have come to signing anyone this month is right-back Daiki Hashioka, who had looked destined to move to West Yorkshire, until he joined Luton Town.

Farke alluded to injuries being a key reason as to why deals that were ‘pretty close’ have fallen through, which is what the message was when Hashioka moved to Luton.
Manuel Benson is another who Leeds had looked at one stage close to signing after holding talks last week, but he is now almost certainly set to stay at Burnley.
Neco Williams, Ben Johnson and David Brooks are among the other players to have been linked with Leeds, who will not be making the move.
