Leeds United are closing in on the signing of Japan international Daiki Hashioka from Belgian side Sint-Truiden, as boss Daniel Farke finally addresses the lack of options on the right of his defence.
Leeds lost Luke Ayling and Djed Spence earlier in the window and are yet to replace them, with Archie Gray picking up a injury in the recent League win over Norwich. An injury that ruled him out of Saturday.
Jamie Shackleton played on the right on Saturday, as Leeds drew 1-1 with Plymouth. The Whites need additions on the right of defence and have been linked with Connor Roberts and many other players.
But now, it appears that Japan ace Hashioka is the one that will join us – as per HBVL. The seven-time Japan star has impressed in Belgium since joining Sint-Truiden two years ago, back in January 2022.

He’s played 91 times for the Jupiler League side, having a hand in 16 goals – scoring two, creating 14. Hashioka has been excellent, attracting interest from bigger Belgian side Genk – but he chose Leeds.
Indeed, Hashioka’s preference was Leeds, or at least, a move to England. Even this season, four goals and assists in 19 games. He is also represented by the same agency that look after winger Dan James.
So, finally, it looks as if Leeds have their man and on paper, it looks quite the impressive addition, too. It is not known how much Hashioka will cost, and it is unclear how much is left on his deal at Sint-Truiden.
