All signs are pointing towards Premier League football at Leeds United next season. But if there’s to be Premier League football the season after as well, a big summer transfer window will be required.

Leeds United are cementing their spot at the top of the Championship table amid a pretty sublime run of form under Daniel Farke over the last few weeks.

Despite a frustrating 1-1 draw against West Brom last time out, the Whites remain unbeaten in the Championship since the end of November; an incredible 17-game unbeaten run.

In the last few weeks Leeds have beaten both Sunderland and Sheffield United to open up a three-point lead at the top of the table with many now backing Leeds United to win the title, let alone earn automatic promotion.

As the summer draws nearer, Leeds United are being linked with several players including many strikers and attacking players, with recent reports even suggesting that Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund is a target for Leeds United.

Rasmus Hojlund to Leeds United played down, but Cameron Archer remains key target

An emerging report from TeamTalk has stated what many might have been thinking already, which is that Hojlund to Leeds United is not likely. Manchester United paid a staggering £72milllion to sign the Dane just two years ago and he remains a very young player at just 22.

TeamTalk state that Hojlund’s links to Elland Road are ‘not something sources are aware of’. Instead, their report states that ‘Leeds are still looking at Cameron Archer’ in yet more reports linking the Southampton star with a summer move to Leeds.

On deadline day in February, Leeds United tried to sign Archer from the Saints who sit in last place of the Premier League table. It was even reported that Archer was open to moving to Leeds United despite it meaning that he’d have been dropping down a division.

Cameron Archer to Leeds United latest as Whites’ no.1 summer target made clear

It’s becoming clearer and clearer that Archer is the man that Farke wants to bring to Leeds United in the summer. And if Leeds are promoted and Southampton are relegated, both outcomes seeming likely, then Archer to Leeds will then become very likely too.

The latest on the situation comes from Alex Crook who’s predicted a player exodus at Southampton in the summer, amid what he describes as a ‘disastrous’ situation at St Mary’s both on and off the pitch.

And Leeds United News sources have already revealed that Farke will target Archer again in the summer.

As the season marches on towards its end, the more that’s said about Archer seems to indicate that he remains a key target for Leeds United who, in the event of promotion, would surely have the finances to make a deal happen.
