In the last week, Leeds United have been credited with a shock interest in Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund.
Leeds United will once again target new striker signings in the summer, especially so if Daniel Farke’s side can go on to earn promotion from the Championship this season.
Right now, Farke’s striker options are very low with Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph his only fit options, and Patrick Bamford on the sidelines.
In January, Leeds United were linked with several strikers including the likes of Alvyn Sanches and Willem Geubbels in the Swiss league, with Sunderland striker Wilson Isidor having since been linked with Leeds.
With Championship promotion starting to look more and more likely for the Whites, there continues to be some exciting names linked with summer moves to Elland Road, the latest being Rasmus Hojlund.
Recent reports suggested that Leeds United would not be able to afford Hojlund who joined Man United in a £60million deal from Atalanta in 2023, now earning a reported wage of £85,000-a-week.

The truth behind Man United striker Rasmus Hojlund’s links to Leeds United
Inevitably, Hojlund’s links to Leeds United have gotten a lot of people talking. The 22-year-old continues to struggle at Old Trafford with just two goals in 21 Premier League appearances this season, but a loan move or even a permanent move away from the club could get his career back on track.
Leeds returning to the Premier League could be a good fit. But speaking to GIVEMESPORT, journalist Ben Jacobs has shut down the rumour. He said: “It’s not true to my understanding, despite some rumours, that Rasmus Hojlund is on Leeds’ shortlist.
“Naturally, it would be a huge fee and a huge wage, the player still wants to stay at Manchester United, and Manchester United have no real ability selling this summer to make anything other than a book loss. So it’s been very much dismissed, any links between Hojlund and Leeds.”
In 76 games for Manchester United, Hojlund has scored 23 goals with three assists to his name. Ruben Amorim’s side currently sit in 15th place of the top flight table.

Two strikers definitely on Leeds United’s shortlist right now
Whilst Hojlund doesn’t look like a target for Leeds after all, there are two Championship strikers on Farke’s radar who have since been confirmed as Leeds United targets: Wilson Isidor and Josh Sargent.
The Sunderland and Norwich City men respectively have scored an impressive 23 league goals between them this season (12 for Isidor and 11 for Sargent).
On Saturday, Sargent scored a screamer for Norwich City as he netted a brace in his side’s 4-2 win over Stoke City, whilst Isidor’s Sunderland fell to a disappointing defeat against Hull City.
Though Farke may be inclined to sign some firepower with Premier League credentials in the summer, should they be preparing for a return to the top flight.
Expect the Whites to put a lot of thought into who they go about signing in the summer.
