Daniel Farke is all of a sudden facing an uncertain future at Leeds United in news that has sparked debate among fans.
Daniel Farke is the hot topic at Elland Road right now. Just days after Leeds United sealed promotion to the Premier League it’s now been reported that the 49ers could brutally relieve Farke of his duties at the club.
Reports on Wednesday revealed how Leeds United are considering replacing Farke ahead of next season. The club are concerned about his poor previous record in the Premier League (six wins from 49 games as Norwich City manager in the top flight).
The news has divided opinion among Leeds United supporters. Many think that Farke deserves another chance at the Premier League and that this time round with Leeds would be different to his previous attempts with Norwich City.
Meanwhile, there’s a section of fans who agree that Farke isn’t the right man to lead the club in the Premier League, despite his success with the club this season.

Could Daniel Farke be an option for Rangers amid Leeds United uncertainty?
North of the border, Rangers are undergoing some boardroom changes. They’ve just hired Kevin Thelwell as sporting director, who leaves a similar position at Everton. And it comes after news that Everton are poaching Angus Kinnear from Leeds United, whilst Leeds’ football adviser Nick Hammond is also wanted by Everton in bizarre turn of knock-on events.
Not only that, but Rangers are in takeover talks with the 49ers among other American investors. Speaking in wake of all of that, and in the wake of news that Leeds United could sack Farke this summer, journalist Roger Hannah has suggested Farke could be an option for the Gers who are without a permanent manager at the moment.
Hannah said on The Sun podcast ‘The Coffee Club’: “Stranger things have happened… Is that something that the group are interested in? Is it something that Daniel Farke’s interested in? Because again, with a third promotion to the Premier League, he has enhanced his own standing, so there may be other jobs out there for him.”

The type of manager that Leeds United now want to hire
The same report that stated Leeds could sack Farke this summer also outlined the blueprint of manager that the 49ers now want to hire. It’s thought that Leeds United now want a manager similar to the ilk of Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola.
Coincidentally, Iraola was linked with Leeds United before Farke landed the job in the summer of 2023. He later landed the Bournemouth job and he’s done a stellar job there, with a very expansive and modernistic style of play.
It’s a style that works in the Premier League and so it’s understandable that the 49ers would want a manager similar to him. And should they part ways with Farke then a move to Rangers could actually be a great opportunity for the German.
Although expect him to want another crack at the Premier League.
