There will be many changes taking place at Leeds United over the summer, and Angus Kinnear will be a pivotal one.

Leeds’ CEO will be leaving his post after eight years, as Kinnear will join Everton in the summer.

Although a big loss, the 49ers will be working behind the scenes to bring in a suitable replacement.

He has had his critics during his tenure, but Kinnear has been part of a team that has now seen two promotions for Leeds, so he can’t have done that badly.

However, he’s done some strange things during his time, and the conversation he had with Ethan Ampadu might top the lot.

Angus Kinnear’s secret chat with Ethan Ampadu at Leeds United

The Whites captain has been an excellent servant and in just his second season has made a brilliant impact.

On the pitch, the Welshman has been a leading figure at the back, and alongside Joe Rodon, he’s been formidable.

The centre-back showed his leadership as Ampadu sent a title warning to Burnley as the two gear up for an incredible showdown in the Championship.

This just shows the 24-year-old is as much of an influence off the pitch as on it, and The Athletic has revealed the extraordinary chat he had with Kinnear, which speaks volumes to his character.

The outlet states that Ampadu’s name has come up again and again when it comes to the hierarchy’s opinion on the squad.

Bonuses are normally weighted in favour of those who play more minutes, but Ampadu told Kinnear on ‘day one’ he wanted everyone paid equally, from Rodon to James Debayo.

Ampadu’s choice ‘united everyone’ and although strange, it’s brilliant.

Ampadu is the perfect captain for Daniel Farke at Leeds

This is somewhat of a gesture from Ampadu that exemplifies exactly why he’s captain of the club.

Jayden Bogle says Daniel Farke’s mentality is ‘massive’, and no doubt he would’ve rubbed his own character on the Welsh defender.

Although he’s been injured for a large part of the season, his off-field presence is there for all to see as Ampadu gave a rallying cry at Sheffield United earlier in the season.

It’s a must that Farke gives him the armband again next season, as he’ll be hoping he’s lifting the title very soon.
