One surprise that has emerged out of Leeds United since the club confirmed automatic promotion back to the Premier League is that The 49ers are considering a replacement.
Realistically, Farke will be the man in the dugout when Leeds United play their first game back in the Premier League. But reports say The 49ers will replace Farke if a better-suited replacement is available.
Farke has done the job he was brought in to do. While it is brilliant and exciting for The Whites that the club are in the Premier League for the 2025-26 season, it is simply Farke doing what he was hired to do.
Darren Bent says Leeds would tempt Jose Mourinho but Simon Grayson has urged The 49ers to keep Farke, while Jermaine Beckford says Farke deserves his chance. Now, Sam Allardyce has had his say.

Sam Allardyce discusses Daniel Farke amid sacking reports
While it is a surprise that The 49ers are considering a replacement especially given Paraag Marathe’s public praise of Farke, it is understandable that the Leeds owners are considering a change in the dugout.
There has been criticism of Farke and there is also concern of Farke’s record in the Premier League with Norwich – just six wins in 49 top-tier matches. But Allardyce described it as a big season for the gaffer.
Allardyce told his No Tippy Tappy Football podcast: “Made up for them. They’ve got the biggest challenge for many years now based on the last two seasons, when all three promoted clubs have been relegated.
“So they’ve got to get their planning right. It’s a big season for the manager. This is a much bigger club, a much wealthier club. If he’s learnt from Norwich, he should help Leeds develop and stay in the league.”
Why it is unfair on Daniel Farke to compare Norwich City stats
Farke won just five games in his first season in the Premier League, relegated in 20th place with just 21 points from 38 games – losing 27 times. The second time he went up, Farke lasted just 11 matches.
Indeed, The German only won once and intriguingly, he got the sack after that one win – which came against Brentford. But it is unfair on Farke to compare his time at Norwich, where he as hardly backed.

In Leeds press conferences, Farke has explained how he was forced to play with players that were not good enough or experienced enough for the Premier League at Norwich due to a lack of spending.
Phil Hay says The 49ers and RedBull give Leeds a chance of survival because they give Leeds the power of spending. Farke deserves his chance to mastermind that spending, because his Norwich form is irrelevant.
