Daniel Farke’s future as Leeds United manager is under the microscope despite delivering automatic promotion at the second time of asking – and Darren Bent has suggested a replacement.
Easter Monday saw Farke and Leeds win automatic promotion back to the Premier League. A 6-0 win over Stoke, followed by Sheffield United’s 2-1 loss to Burnley confirmed Leeds would be returning to the top.
But there are question marks still regarding Farke. Some are not fussed with his style of play but mostly, there are concerns with how tough Farke found the Premier League when promoted twice with Norwich.
Farke was afforded the entire 2019-20 season after his first promotion but managed just five wins that season as Norwich finished bottom. His second season at the top saw him sacked after just 11 games.

Darren Bent compares Daniel Farke to Chris Wilder, Scott Parker
Simon Grayson has urged Leeds to keep Farke in the hot seat and certainly, The 49ers seem happy with The German. Paraag Marathe praised Farke and his “relentless” nature in the pursuit of promotion.
Speaking to TalkSPORT (April 22, 5.05PM), Darren Bent is not so sure. He says that Leeds could be open to replacing Farke and said that if things go wrong, Chris Wilder and Scott Parker would get more time.

“Scott Parker is 100% fine. What he’s done is incredible. Chris Wilder, if they go up, they’ll be fine. Wilder has good pedigree in the Premier League, they finished ninth. Farke is the one I’m thinking, not sure.
“He’s done great things with Norwich. Farke has every right to say, I’ve just got Leeds promoted. I deserve a go. But if things go wrong, he [Farke] might get 10 games, whereas Wilder and Parker get 20 games.”
Jose Mourinho to Leeds United? Darren Bent says it could happen
Currently at Fenerbahce, Mourinho has hinted at a return to the Premier League and a club that are near the bottom of the division. It is expected the Special One leaves Turkey at the end of the current season.
Bent believes Mourinho would be tempted with the chance to manage Leeds largely because of the size and pedigree of the club. The 49ers could well be tempted to sack Farke if it meant bringing Mourinho in.

“Jose [Mourinho] might look at that and go, because there’s so much about Leeds. They’ve got this character and perception where everyone hates us. It feels like a match made in heaven,” Bent added.
Ultimately, if Leeds are to oust Farke and appease fans who are fully in support of the German, as well as the playing staff, then it will need to be a big manager like Mourinho. Certainly, not a Sean Dyche.
