Patrick Bamford’s days at Leeds United may well be numbered, with the striker struggling for form and struggling to stay fit in this 2024/25 Championship campaign.
Patrick Bamford has long been a divisive player among Leeds United fans. One who’s often split opinion and so on, but one who’s always had a goal or two in him. In 198 total appearances for the Whites, he’s scored 68 goals.
Ahead of this January transfer window, it was revealed that Wrexham and Genoa were keen on Bamford. Since, Wrexham’s interest in Bamford has been played down, with the League One hopefuls unable to afford his current wages.
More recently, it’s been revealed that Leeds’ top six rivals Blackburn Rovers are keen on Bamford. John Eustace’s Blackburn held Leeds United on New Year’s Day in another frustrating game against for Daniel Farke against the former Birmingham City boss.
Rovers currently sit in 7th place of the Championship table compared to Leeds in 1st. As things stand, 14 points separate the two teams.

Blackburn Rovers manager John Eustace breaks silence on Patrick Bamford links
Eustace has now discussed his side’s rumoured interest in Bamford. And unlike what managers usually say in these situations, Eustace has confirmed that Bamford is someone who Blackburn Rovers have looked at for this January window.
But Eustace then seemed to hint that Bamford’s Leeds United future might not be so black and white, saying that ‘you’d have to ask’ Leeds about a possible move for the 31-year-old during the winter window.
Speaking to Lancashire Telegraph, Eustace said: “Patrick is a very good player, I played with him at Derby, a long time ago when he started out.
“He’s a consistent performer at this level, he plays for a huge club in Leeds. But there will be lots of names thrown towards me and I’ll just say they’re good players.
“You’d have to ask the club. He’s a player on a long list that we have looked at and we’ll have to see.”

Daniel Farke’s latest stance on Patrick Bamford revealed
As first revealed by Leeds United News, Leeds United have shown interest in Emmanuel Latte Lath at Middlesbrough. However, the striker is now wanted by Atlanta United in a reported £16million move.
Since the news of the MLS side’s interest in Latte Lath, it’s been revealed that Leeds won’t pursue a move for Latte Lath and that Farke is happy with his current striking options in Joel Piroe, Mateo Joseph, and Bamford, with Joe Gelhardt set to join Hull City on loan.
So Bamford may well be kept around for the second half of the season, and when Gelhardt leaves and Bamford gets back to fitness, the longstanding striker could even play an important role in the Whites’ push for promotion.
